Hell yes I want ice cream. Don't care much about bagels. One idiot's

Hey Rich, I gather from this maybe you thought I had a "fat mindset"
because I was talking about the looks aspect of losing weight (new pants) instead of the health aspect. Believe me, I am doing this for my health too, but looking better and being able to wear cute clothes is a nice side benefit, don't you think? I swear, I am not appearance obsessed, but I used to be appearance oblivious, just didn't care what I looked like at all. And the difference in my mindset now is that I do care, because the outside and the inside are all connected. Good health leads to better thinking and better emotional control as well as looking better. Also, I am with you on the not looking for sweet substitutes, but not for the same reasons. If other people want to, that's fine, but it's easier for me to not want the real stuff if I'm not eating the fake stuff. You are a smart woman and I probably shot of my mouth too soon. Health first, but yes, it is pretty cool when your pants fall off and you need to buy some smaller ones. Keep going and I will, too. Exercise. 30 minutes a day. Walking or running. This keeps the weight off. Weight training is good to remove the flab after losing the weight. But I must admit, I am not doing much weight training. I'm doing circuit training at Curves 3 times a week, it's alternating weights and aerobic exercise. I've been getting a bit lazy on my off days though, but I just got back into walking on my days off from Curves. My excuse was the heat, but I should have known better. A day without exercise makes me feel like a slug. 4. Check in with your doctor every once in a while, just to make sure you are not hurting yourself. Check-up is coming in November! Thanks for the good advice, I am doing it except for the whole-grain breads and pasta, I don't think I need that stuff. Thanks Rich! I have a "shooting mouth" problem too, but moreso irl than on
the internet. You are a great example of why I always give people the benefit of the doubt. I could have gotten my hackles up and spat back something mean at you, but I chose to believe that you were genuinely trying to help, and I was right. You're ok by me, just keep in mind that yes, the journey is the reward, and we are all on this journey together, so treat people with respect and kindness, and we can all make it through with this great support system in this group. I didn't lose anything in a month of working out, until I changed my diet. I think the exercise may contribute to the loss of fat instead of lean body mass, though. Tastes great! Less filling!! Ok, you're both right. You can stay thin and
eat lots of calories, if you work out like an athelete. You can stay thin and be a lazy slob, if you barely eat anything. Exercising AND managing what you eat gets you the best of both worlds, you can eat some yummy stuff (but don't go overboard) and you can spend at least some leisure time away from the gym (but don't go overboard).
