You see, I had this worthless piece of junk that I did not know what
to do with, until I recalled that I wanted a pullup bar.

can you build a cage for all the trolls in this NG please?

You know, I checked out Misc.Fitness.Weights recently and found that
the volume of posts has gone way down. What happened, did people stop
lifting weights?

Not everyone has a newsreader that will allow them to killfile Bill
Davidson when he changes his username with every post. Some can't
handle that.

BTW, I notice that you're using slrn, so you can do it. For a
functional filter string on his X-Trace header, see:

How do you know where to post? I use weights all the time. I think
about my weight training more than I think about my diet and aerobic.
I am trying to tone and also keep my strength.....Strength training
requires weights....I use them every day. My doctor encourages it in
women over 50. I found this group because I needed to lose weight
before my daughters wedding in June, but I really have a great interest
in weights, how people use them....how much weight I should use.
Maybe I will check that group out. I don't think people have stopped
using weights, but I think support for dieting is the first place you
would look if you were trying to lose weight and know very little about
posting to newsgroups. I know I just took a shot at this first. Plus
I knew Beverly posted here and I used to post on a cycling group but
couldn't take all the drama over there. I never said anything right.
As soon as I joined everyone said I would give up.......Well its been a
couple years now, and I am still riding. Phoney on you Bikes.misc.

If you thought the biking group was tough you'll want to stay clear of
the weights group
They really liked your posts in the biking group as long as you didn't
comment on the clothing! I don't remember them ever calling you a
FRED. You should stop by sometime.

Glad to hear you're still riding that bike. I'm heading off for a
biking vacation in 3 weeks. I'm anxious to soak up some Florida
sunshine, relax on the beach and do some biking without being bundled
up in winter gear.

You should check out Krista's weight site for lifting information.
It's geared toward women and has some great info.

Thanks Beverly....yes I still ride the bike. I ride alot for charity.
I am doing the MS ride again, and I am doing the walk for the March of
Dimes in April.
I went out to Florida and rode with my cousins. Had a great time. The
weather was beautiful. I think I am just into being healthy. The bike
started me off. I guess I was not called a Fred, but I sure had
people yelling at me alot. I still don't like all the bicycle clothes
and I probably should have kept that to myself. I would have been
better off. People are sensitive about their riding attire. I wear
the same clothes when I am riding as I do when I go to the gym. Just
regular clothes. But then again, I don't ride centuries....so I
imagine you need all the colors and lycra when you do that.
Who knows. I just like to ride. I still can't fix a bike or talk
about a bike like I know how it is made...I don't know the mathmatics
of cycling and I am technically challenged. I just ride for fun and
exercise. I really can't get into anything in a deep way. Even
dieting.....I can't get into dividing carbs and proteins and counting
the calories from Fat like alot of people do.....I'm just not that type
of person. I am the "KEEP IT SIMPLE" type. Glad your riding and
taking a vacation. Have a FABULOUS TIME!!!!!!!!!!
