Default Guar & Xanthan Gums

I've seen both listed as low-carb thickening agents. Are they
interchangeable? Is there any advantage of one over the other? Are
there specific differences, or times when one would be better than the
other? I'm headed to the health food store tomorrow and wondering if I
need both of these or if one will do.

Not an expert by any means but the cookbook I have says they are
interchangeable. So you should only need one.

One would probably do, but they do have slightly different qualities.
Guar is usually less expensive, but also provides less potent
thickening. I usually use a blend of the two.
