WOW What a rush!!!!!
My, you are brave! Congrats on making your jump and raising so much money
for a good cause. I can't wait to see the video. Keep us posted. -- Laura "ray miller" wrote in message ... Just got back from Hinton. The jump was a success!!! We got to the airfield for about 10:00 and started filling in the forms then we got the go-ahead and got suited up. I was seriously nervous but Neil was fine. We went through all (both!) the actions and commands I had to remember and then off to the plane. The plane looked like something out of WW2. The takeoff was extremely smooth and we circled up to 12,000 ft in about 5 minutes. Then the instructor connecfed the harnesses and tightened everything up. We went through the routine once more, then shuffled to the hatchway. The camera-man climbed out onto the wing and we stood on the brink for a moment. I was just about to say OK, when the instructor went anyway. WHAT A RUSH!! I paniced for a second then was OK. Breathing was tricky for a while too then I relaxed and enjoyed it. The freefall lasted about 45 seconds, then the instructor opened the parachute. I think that was almost as scary as jumping out of the plane. We got pulled about a bit, then the instructor relaxed the harness and we sailed gently to the ground. It took about 3 minutes. The landing was undignified. The video is great and we will try to get it on the net this weekend. I think we've raised over 800GBP for Macmillan. Neil says he'd do it again, but I'm not so sure. I loved it but I think once is enough. I'm still on a high, so if I spelt anything wrong, blame it on the adrenaline. Ray - happy to be on terra firma again. -- rmnsuk 273/192/182 |

WOW What a rush!!!!!
Living vicariously through reading your post was thrilling enough for
me. No need to try it in real life. lol Congratulations on following through with your intent and desire to sky-dive. So many people have dreams and never do a thing to make them reality. I now have the photo and video to prove it. Take a look at http://alstewart.homeip.net:8088/ There are some photos of Neil and I and two videos. The videos are huge though. 80 and 90 MB If you want to download them you will probably need cable and you should probably right click and 'save target as', rather than just clicking. They are also available from my FTP site. If you prefer to get them via FTP just email me and I'll send connection details. Remember to remove the snake from my email address!
