Not getting posts?
Okay, in the past few days the posts have been minimal. I have not checked
the group in about 24 hours and now there are only 8 posts in the past 24 hour period. Where did everyone go, or am I missing posts now with the newsgroup server that I am using? Debbie |

I think the newsgroup is just quiet. I only see 9 messages with a 2/18 date
and 10 with today's date. BTW, did you see where the german server is going to a pay service shortly? I think it will $13 per year. Still pretty cheap for a decent server. I haven't decided if I will keep my ID or not since I currently don't use it very often. "Deb in Northern California" wrote in message ... Okay, in the past few days the posts have been minimal. Allow me a Girly-Girl(TM) Moment:
I started back at WW because I didn't like how I looked in my sister's wedding photos and decided to do something about it. This time around, the program has a lot of emphasis on practical behaviour modification. I have been grabbing those tools and using them. One of them is rewarding yourself for progress. I had posted earlier this week on how I was going to reward myself for _finally_ getting the first ten pounds off by gonig for a manicure and a pedicure. I did. This is the first time in my life I've done such a thing and I loved it. The asthetician tut-tutted over the state of my toenails. but said that overall, my feet were in pretty good shape. (i've always done my own pedicures and manicures before, following procedures learned from one of those beauty books) She reshaped my nails, gave me care tips (as to why I should not cut them as short as I had been) and promised me that if I put my feet into her hands and did what she said to do at home some nails that had been looking pretty ugly at home should start to clear up and look better. Regarging my hands, she tut-tutted again for my having ripped the nails off a few weeks earlier (I do so when fretting) but said that overall, I had very good nails, even though I had been abusing them. I then asked her about other skin care questions. (I cheerfully admit to being somewhat less than educated in this department) She then gave me a simple recipe for a sugar (the abrasive), baking soda (water and skin softener) and oi l(to moisturize the skin) scrub. Always one to look up and check background on these sorts of things, I googled and found a page full of recipe ideas at http://www.cancerlynx.com/bodyscrub.html I made up a simple paste of sugar, baking soda, and safflower oil. scented it with a bit of orange blossom water and lemon juice (yes, I have a well stocked kitchen) and proceeded to the bathroom for a luxurious little half hour exfoliation session. I folded a towel, put it over the side of the tub, sat down and proceeded to massage and scrub every inch of my body, section by section, washing off with hot water in between. Amazing. That's all I can say. Why didn't I find out about this 20 years ago? When you do something like this, you are really paying attention to your body. I was certainly noticing the changes that have occured over the past four months. General tightening up of muscle tone, thinner neck, more muscular legs and arms and gut muscles. My asthetician says that if I do this once a week, that I will minimize the existing blackhead issues on the bod. I'll report back on that The oil leaves your skin feeling awesomely soft. The ingredients were all in my kitchen and cost, what, all of 35 cents? Guys, this goes for you too. Try it, and use an appropriately masculine scent or leave it unscented. You'll love the results. So will your girlfriends and wives. Shirley Hicks Toronto, Ontario I'm looking forward to trying out other combinatons. And oh yeah, it's a good idea to scrub the tub afterwards. |

I saw that, and think I 'm going to pay. It 's not expensive and it 's the
best and most reliable news server I know. Unless anyone here would have another reliable free news server? Nathalie "Laura" wrote in message ... I think the newsgroup is just quiet. I probably won't pay the annual fee. I have news server access with my dial
up ISP (AT&T) so I'm okay for now. The company is getting bought out by SBC next year so I don't know how I will be impacted. As for other free servers check the news group: alt.free.newsservers. We ran into one possible server: http://www.yottanews.com/index.html but read the fine print. If your IP address changes frequently then this is not for you. You have to sign up for another account each time your IP address changes. Plus if anyone else has the same IP address as you then you are blocked from getting an account. This is a very strange way to manage IDs in my book. "Nathalie W" wrote in message ... I saw that, and think I 'm going to pay. Yes, I got that email too. I have already paid for mine. I like the
newserver and since Google does not work for me. Besides, I noticed the people that mark their messages as no archive end up not showing on Google. For the little bit it costs each year, I will pay the fee. Is 10 Euro about $13. I thought it was about $10, oh well, it is still reasonable for an annual subscription. I'm not sure how many US dollars it equates either. I got the $13 figure
from another newsgroup discussion about this very subject. I agree that it is still a bargin especially for someone without access to a decent newsserver. And you are correct that google deletes any message with the no archive header after 5 days. It used to be that they did not show up at all. The only ones that I know of that is using it are Fred and Wysong. Are their others? Hey, Fred, can you stop using the archive header for this newsgroup so that anyone stuck with google news will see your messages? "Deb in Northern California" wrote in message ... I stopped using store bought soap 3 years ago. I make my own. You can add
the oatmeal to the recipe and have a exfoliating bar also. I go a tad heavy on the oils to keep the skin feeling nice and smooth. I also use my soap for shampoo. Hubby liked it so much we now give a basket to his aunt and mom every christmas and to whoever is holding the christmas brunch if we go. I also make my own hand cream which I use on my whole body. You can get scents online at many places if you don't have the herbs to make them yourself. I always wanted to get back to nature and do things from scratch, so glad my sister taught me how to make soap. Adele -- 248/238/169 minigoal 228 3/21/05 wrote in message ...
