update on Michelle
Well after a few months of just lurking, trying to keep up with all
that has been happening congrats to everone that has lost and a big don't give up to those who it didn't go as planned. For me I have obviously been doing loads of skiing over 40 days this season. Skiing is my passion, normally associated with serious weight gain too, because of the apres ski and huge appetite. This year has been a first. I actually managed to lose 1.2 kg ( 2.5 lbs). I did make some good choices and got back on plan quickly after the holidays. This is a toughy for me as my stomach adjusts to the bigger portions and doesn't want to shrink back quickly. This year I solved the problem by allowing my self larger portions of fruits and veg with each meal plus 2 snacks. I have tried to keep my carb and protein portions normal though. I am now just 1.2kg from my weight watchers goal of 61kg so I will try acheive this in the next 2 weeks. So I should be at goal for Easter, boy what a weird feeling that will be after trying to lose weight since 8th of May 1999. My personal goal is to get to 58 or 59 kg to allow a bit of a buffer. My plan, continue what I have done so far, regular exercise and sensible choices, not beat myself up if I make a mistake just dust off and start again. It sounds like you've been having a great time with all the skiing this year. Beverly |

Michelle Ozzie in Switzerland (who's been on too many ski holidays ;-) I envy you getting to do all of that skiing It's good that you've been able to make positive changes since that's really important to the whole maintenance thing. I've been thinking a lot the last two days about how bad my situation would be if I hadn't made the changes I did. Good luck getting to your goal by Easter! Jenn |

Michelle Ozzie in Switzerland (who's been on too many ski holidays ;-) Skiing's my passion too! I've managed to go up to Lake Tahoe a lot this year. My next trip is to Norway in a week and a half, where I'll be swooshing down the slopes of Hafjell. : ) I normally lose weight when I'm on vacation because I don't place much of an emphasis on food; there's too many other cool things to do than eat. Next season, I'm planning on getting a few trips to Utah and maybe Colorado in as well. And, during the off season, I'll be hiking, backpacking, climbing and running to get into great shape. Martha |
