Carb Blocking Pills

I've been shopping online for some Carbohydrate blocking pills.
Can anyone recommend a product for me, I'm getting a bit confused?

Sigh, there really ought to be a faq. Save your money. Carb
"blockers" don't work outside of a test tube, your stomach acids break
down the enzime before it can do any good.

Moral of the story, even with low carb there's no such thing as a free
lunch.

Starch Blockers

Like inverse M&Ms, melts in your hand, not in your mouth.
Well, not exactly...It works in a test tube, but not in your body.

The active ingredient in starch blockers, phaseolamin (extracted from
beans), inactivates amylase (the enzyme which digests starch) when
mixed in a test tube.

But phaseolamin is a protein. Proteins are digested and broken down
into amino acids in your stomach. Carb digestion happens later in the
small intestine. Unfortunately, the starchblocker no longer exists there,
because it was already digested by your stomach.

The reason why I asked is because a friend took some starch blocking pill
from Andrew Lessman. Told me it worked very well and he lost 4 lbs on it,
and he didn't change his diet.
Usually I never pay any attention about these things but in this case I felt
curious.

A four pound loss could just be normal fluctuation (water weight), and
wishful thinking.

"Carb blockers" may be in for the axe soon as I've heard rumblings
from some group somewhere that is pushing for a government slapdown on
diet product claims that are bogus (fat flush pills, carb blockers,
fat burners, electric belts that supposedly excercize your abs-- that
sort of stuff).

The others are right, save your money.
