Default road trip food

Hi Everyone!
First of all, let me thank everyone for their support and postings
I've been 'lurking' on this site for a couple weeks now and have been
doing the Atkins diet (still doing induction) for almost 3 weeks. I've
lost 11 pounds! Yay me! I've got a little dilemma that I'm hoping
everyone can help me with. Next week, I'm going to be taking a little
road trip to visit friends and family. I'll be driving about 17 hours
one way, split into a day and a half. Before I found the low carb WOL,
when I drove long distances, I would constantly eat. Gas stations are
just too convenient for junk food! I don't want to have to spend the
time going to restaurants since I have so far to drive, and I'm really
stumped as to what I can bring to eat in the car for meals and snacks.
I'm going to bring a small cooler since most LC food needs
refrigeration. But I don't have a microwave for my car ) Who's got
ideas for road trip food?
Thanks!
Pengy

Slim Jims are a fav snack of mine. Atkins Advantage bars. Take a cooler
in the car and you can take lunch meat and cheese. The Natures Own Wheat
n Fiber bread is low carb and you can make sandwiches.
Have a SAFE trip!

String cheese, jerky, and nuts/seeds.

I make roll ups.

Roll up a slice of meat and/or cheese in a lettuce leaf. Place of few
of these in a ziplock bag in a small cooler.

Pork rinds are excellent to munch on, they are pretty good appetite
supressants. You could also take some canned tuna or salmon, take a break
and eat a can.

Thinking about this I figure I'd take some LC tortillas to wrap bunless
fast food burgers & other things in. Take a few minutes in the parking
lot after going thru the drive-up to wrap the stuff, set napkins in a
handy spot on the dash and drive on.

Stephen,

This is a great idea! I've stashed a few in the fridge at work for
similar reasons - don't know why I didn't think of this angle.
