Default 4th week in maintenance

Well I have finished my 4th week in maintenance, and I am down another
200g ( 0.5lbs) I don't get it. I have upped the eating to find out a
level of eating for maintaining, this is now my longest run of losses
in the last year, most I had 2 to 3 weeks of losses then a gain, but
now it is a 5 week stretch of losses ( 1.6kg, 0.4kg, 0.1kg and now
0,2kg) I am certainly building on my clothing margin. I am adding
another point this week, I have gone from 18 up to 25, It took some
time to get used to wating more. In total I have lost 14kg (30lbs)
over a 15 month period, I am pleased because I feel like I have
developed a WOL, now to try maintain. Thanks to everyone here for the
great support over the time, You have taught me alot.

Well done, Michelle! Seems you are following the ASDWW trend of losing while
on maintenance :-)

I did the same......I think it just takes a long time for the body to
readjust - it carries on the downward trend for a while before grinding a
halt - bit like trying to stop a train - you can slam on the brakes but it
still takes a while to stop It will settle - just give it time.

Your body's in a losing frame of mind. It got that WOL going and
doesn't want to quit. I sure hope I have the same problem when I get
where you are. Congratulations on maintaining your success.

My current weight: 147 lbs
Weight change since my last recorded weight: -5 lbs
Total weight change to date: -85 lbs

Plummeted to reach two mini-goals, first to weigh less than 150, and second to have lost 85 lbs overall. I now drop two daily points to 20, and I'm 2 lbs from my WW goal. One of these days, I'll have to set my personal goal.

I can explain this week's drop. First, I painted my kitchen and bathroom last weekend, and stripped the layers of acrylic paint off one side of the basement door. I munched almost the entire day on whatever was at hand (mostly fat-free pretzels that I use for lunches). By the end of day one, I was ravenous and tired; the thought of cooking, or even using the microwave in the basement, required more effort than I could muster. I ordered a medium Fit N Delicious veggie pizza from Pizza Hut, along with a salad, and ended up eating the entire thing in one sitting. Dinner alone was 24 points. Day two went similarly, except that instead of eating pretzels, I got through the day on ice cream. I don't remember what I ate for dinner. Maybe nothing. Between the two days, I ate all daily points PLUS my flex points and then some. By Monday morning, the scale was up 3 lbs over Saturday's WI. I figure that was mostly water retention from the sodium-heavy eating on Saturday plus the sore muscles
from painting.

Monday I got right back on program, eating only my daily points spread over 3 regular meals. Tuesday I ate a little under my daily points, spread over 3 regular meals. By Wednesday, I was eating about half my daily points, not eating dinner at all.

Here's the deal: Construction is rapidly coming to a close. By the end of Monday, I'll have a fully functioning bathroom and kitchen. By the end of Tuesday, 98% of the work will be done. This week was a frenzy of activity and decision-making and fretting as everything started coming together. Every evening I had to inspect the day's work and take in all the things that delighted me and make notes about questions and things left undone or done incorrectly. Then I'd have to make a trip to the hardware store for some item or two I'd forgotten I needed. I was too busy to eat. And I had no appetite. The butterflies in my stomach left no room for food.

Other than last week's painting, no exercise.

I fully expect to gain back some of this week's whoosh once life returns to some semblance of normal. I figure a kitchen/bath remodel is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and so has been my way of eating this week. Not a chance that I'll make a lifetime habit of not eating. But it's nice to be in the 140s, if only for another day or two. I haven't seen this decade on the scale since I was in high school more than 30 years ago.

This weekend I'm stripping paint again, this time the bathroom door frame. Monday I'm taking the day off from work to hover over the plumbers through the installation of my appliances and fixtures. Everything is so beautiful, I'm having a hard time believing it's my house being transformed. That's not so different from my disbelief about having lost 85 lbs and wearing size 8 petite pants. These days the gratitude I'm feeling for the changes in my life reduces me to tears.

It's the best day of my life!

And just about the time you do *get it* the rules will change. g At least that
seems to be what most of us have found. It is so hard to find that magic number
of points necessary to maintain, then either the lifestyle changes or amount of
exercise, whatever - so that number will constantly change. Enjoy the losses and
the greater clothing margin, and huge congrats on the fantastic job you are doing
on maintenance!

Nah too "lazy" I ride a motorbike in sommer, although I have a very
steep garden to keep me fit, and I cycle to and from work (about a 30
min commute). My husband and I are planning some hikes over the
sommer, there is one which crosses the alps, which excites us, about a
2 day hike, with a stop in a mountain hotel. Now to do some training,
the only problem with hike is the leg length difference between DH and
me 6foot 2 to 5 foot 1. I will let you know how we get on, so far we
have only manage to talk about hiking in sommer.
