Default total calories

Hi, does it really matter total calories per meal as long as I stay
lower than my total intake.
I.E. To loose approx 2 lbs per week I should be eating a maximum of
1800 calories per day.
I will have a light breakfast or a banana in the morning, lets say
approx 400 cal. For lunch I will grab a yogurt with some fruit, lets
say 200 calories. That means I could eat 1200 calories at night and
still loose weight right? I don't usually eat much in the morning, and
could deprive myself for lunch if I can enjoy my favorite meals at
night and pig out. This can't be right???
Please clarify me about total calories and how much per meal.

TIA

Frankly, if you're eating only 600 calories until you get to dinner,
you're going to be absolutely ravenous by the time you get to consume
those nighttime calories, which means you're likely to go over the limit
anyway.

I don't know the science of whether saving your calories for the evening
makes a difference or not, but I will say this: you will feel A LOT
better physically if you eat five to six small meals a day, which means
you're taking in calories throughout the day. This is what I've been
doing and not only have I managed to lose 45 pounds this way, I've also
felt the best I've ever felt health-wise.

My breakup of calories is something like the following:

Danactive in the morning - 90
Breakfast - 331
Lunch 351.5
Snack - 200
Dinner - Anywhere from 500-600
Snack - 200

This puts me right around the 1800 calorie a day mark and has worked for
weight loss and for making me feel good.

One of the things that would concern me about loading calories in the
evening as well is the fact that you'd have little chance of working off
those calories. I eat breakfast then go work out in the gym. After I eat
lunch, I'm walking, doing chores at home, etc. so all throughout my day
those calories have a chance of being expended through exercise and life
in general. If you loaded up at 1200 calories in the evening and did
little movement, I can't imagine that would be a good thing.

Someone with more knowledge of this can correct me if I'm wrong.

It does not matter.

Sounds like an overall healthy amount of calories.

approx 400 cal. For lunch I will grab a yogurt with some fruit, lets

Yes. And it is a good idea to do that if you know yourself that the evenings
are a problem time for you. It makes sense, then, to save up for the
evenings so you can relax and not be under pressure.

I keep under 1700 calories a day and always like to try to do half before
dinner and half for the evening for the same reason and I've lost about 74
lb so far (since last June).

I don't usually eat much in the morning, and
could deprive myself for lunch if I can enjoy my favorite meals at
night and pig out. This can't be right???

Why not? But by all means don't "deprive" yourself. If you eat TOO little
the only risk is that you might get too hungry later on and overeat.

You might consider a mid-late afternoon "investment" of a couple of hundred
calories to keep your hunger at bay.

I think your idea is just fine.

It's stupid to "deprive" yourself so that you can pretend to gorge
later, and if you do it all the time I think it's a good way to set
yourself up for failure down the road, but technically? No, it doesn't
matter very much how many calories you consume at each meal as long as
you don't consume more than you burn.

I've been drinking it for about 7 months now and yes, I have noticed a
difference with it. Forgive the TMI, but I was prone to yeast infections
and had several every year. I'd been tested for diabetes and other
things for which yeast infections are a symptom, but all were negative.

Since I started with the DanActive, I've had no yeast infections and I
believe it's made a difference with my digestive health as well. Again,
forgive the TMI, but I'm much more regular with bowel movements than I
was before.

Total calories is important, but you also have to be aware of what those
calories are made up of. Yeah you could lose weight eating 1200 calories
from ice cream, but you would be having a whole bunch of other health
problems.

If your total calories are from healthy food sources you are good to go.
Another suggestion that dieticians have told me is to break the calories up
into 4 or 5 meals throughout the day. You will be able to burn more bodyfat
this way and keep the metabolism high.

Thanks. I had been drinking it for a couple weeks before I left on
vacation. I didn't drink it while I was away from home. I had noticed
less bloating so I guess it's back to the store to pick up some more.

Actually, I don't agree to that information.
If you eat too much at night, your body will store it as fat.
Moreover, you body will adjusted and you will hit a plateau.
You have to shock your body each day. That
means, the best you can do, have a high carbohydrate one day and a low
carbohydrate the other day.
Eat every 2 hours and a half, exercices early in the morning, I mean cardio,
on an empty stomach.
Weight training will help to increase your metabolism too.
Do that, tell me how you feel after 2 weeks.

You're insane.

Or at the very least, insanely wrong.

Have a nice day.
