http://www.webterrace.com/negative/negative.htm
You should learn how to do a web search, dear. wrote in message ... If anyone has a link to where I can get a reasonably complete list of : Negative Calorie Foods and/or Fat Burning Foods please email me, or post the URL in here. If I'm going to try & lose 20 pounds, I might as well choose foods that are harder to digest & fill you up a bit mo-) THANKS, Gene -- eMail: |

Did you read any of the other replies? There isn't a more complete list
because they are a myth. "The Catabolic Diet is another example of slick marketing. One of the ways nutrition fraud survives is through creativity. People are always looking for something new to help with weight reduction, especially when the latest weight loss craze doesn't work and no longer is appealing. Like all weight loss gimmicks, The Catabolic Diet takes the physiological fact that the body requires energy (calories) to digest food and builds a falsehood around it. The digestive process is very complex and well regulated. It is a myth that foods have negative calories. If the previous examples were true, weight loss would happen by eating rice cakes all day, regardless of how many were eaten. Apples, celery, cauliflower, and other low calorie foods have nothing magical about them. People lose weight in two ways: they are taking in less food than their body requires and/or they are expending more calories than they are taking in." There are no such things. If you need to lose 20 pounds first start exercising and then plan to keep it up the rest of your life. Otherwise the weight will come back, and that's not good for you. wrote: If anyone has a link to where I can get a reasonably complete list of : Negative Calorie Foods and/or Fat Burning Foods please email me, or post the URL in here. There is a list of negative calorie foods available at this link: http://www.bodybuildingpro.com/negat...oriefoods.html This list is considered accurate by many people, and you will often hear that apples are negative calorie. In my opinion, it seems very clear that celery would be negative calorie because it is difficult for the body to digest, but some items are not as obvious as others. It would seem unlikely that it takes your body more than 80 calories to digest an apple, but I can only base my opinions on what I have researched. |

Where can I download a list of "Negative Calorie Foods" ?
THANKS.
The question that was posed to me was: "Does it take MORE energy to break-down certain foods vs. others? There are only three answers: yes, no, or the same. If the answer is yes, then the next question would be "how much energy does it take per specific food"? That's the chart(s) that I want to see. If celery or apples, etc. make you "feel" full, and at the same time provide only a minimal net calorie gain, then is this not a good supplement to a balanced diet? Where can I download a list of "Negative Calorie Foods" ?
If this is what your friend is asking s/he is very confused and should go to the nearest library, go to the reference section, and read the encyclopedia article(s) on nutrition. The answer to the first issue is NO as everybody has been telling you. The second issue you address below is the fact that fiber takes the body a long time to process, therefore it goes through the body slower, therefore the body takes longer to feel hungry again. That is NOT negative calories. Your friend needs to start an exercise program; I find that aerobic exercise like a long walk or Tae Bo not only burns calories big-time, but also suppresses appetite, improves cardio-pulmonary and cardio-vascular condition, combats arthritis insomnia and migraines, helps prevent dementia and cancer of several kinds, reverses osteoporosis, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol. Strength training is also needed, and flexibility exercise like yoga is an excellent idea. Your friend also needs to eat plenty of vegetables fruits whole-grains and legumes which have most of the nutrients people need, including fiber; also animal products like meat for complete proteins, vitamin B12 and high-absorption iron; and very limited amounts of fats with emphasis on olive/canola oils. wrote: THANKS.
