Default Hostess light cupcakes

That is what I thought at first so I went and got fresh strawberries from my
mom's garden, washed them, and she doesn't use chemicals then froze them,
with and without greens, bought benadryl, after they were frozen I tried
them and they still bothered me, so whatever chemical changes there are in
the freezing process is what bothers me, something in the berries... but my
body is weird, I have no trouble eating canned pineapple but fresh tears up
my stomach... like I said very weird... one theory put forth by an eye
doctor is that due to the amount of medication I have taken for my eyes that
it has screwed with my blood chemistry, Lee

Concerning your reaction to frozen fruits-is it possible that there are
added chemicals/preservatives used in their freezing process that you are
reacting to? The bag of frozen berries from Costco does not list

ingredients
so I can't check for you.

I meant they aren't currently life threatening, for me, and that is only
because I am so careful... like today, we were in Wal-Mart, THE SAMPLE
LADY
was there, she had coke plus... DH and I had just been discussing this

as
something for us to sell, so we rushed right up to the table, the lady
automatically started to hand us the little sample cup... DH stepped

back
and reached for the nutritional facts... had aspertain in it so not for

me
or him... the e nice thing was the paper there specifically said to read
the
whole thing if you are prone to allergies... and if you can tolerate the
sweetener it had zinc and magnesium added I think, not a bad product for

a
soda.

and to also let you know just how careful you should be if you are prone
to
allergies, I have started noticing a bit of reaction to other berries
besides strawberries when they are frozen, so I don't eat them out at

all
anymore unless I am sure they are fresh, Lee

Not to be a doom caller Lee, but allergies that have always been mild

can
turn deadly any time...

besides, if things make you swell and makes it hard to breathe, that

sounds
awefully like anaphylexia (however you spell that stuff) don't mess

with
allergies lady!

Honestly, I have developed enough coping mechanisms that I am not
really
interested in spending the time, let alone the money for the

testing...
even
at their worst, they generally aren't life threatening so trial and

error
and major avoidance seems to work, I have read menopause can
trigger/change
allergies, Lee

I think allergy testing has come a long way since the 80's. It might
be
worth getting tested again. You may have developed new allergies

too.
There
are no allergies in my family history but my sister recently
discovered
that
she is allergic to eggs and shellfish which as a kid and young adult

she
could eat without any problems. I don't know if it could be

menopausal
related (she's 54) or not but the timing is about right.

have never been formally tested, the one time I went to the
allergist

I
tested no allergies for 65 things. I went to a clinic at Barnes
hospital
in
St. Louis... after the test I realized the allergist was
uncomfortable...
then he says you look so familiar and I know I haven't seen you in
my
office... I said no but you have seen both of my parents, I give

him
their
names he leaves and returns in ten minutes... and says...:1. your
father
has
multiple allergies and so does your mother.
2. you are sitting here with a dog guide and have indicated you

smoke.
3. Your histamine patch show normal.
4. given your genetics and lifestyle you should show positive but
aren't,
I
can do "elite" testing but it is around $10k *back in the 80s* so

I
said
no
thanks... then he says take benadryl for 2 weeks every day before
you
go
to
bed. then eliminate every single thing you have an overt reaction
to
and
then after six months add one back at a time and see what

happens...

I tell you all of this because I am rambling and I am in fact to
lots
of
things... odd things like I can eat fresh berries including
strawberries,
but if I eat even a single berry that is frozen I swell and have
difficulty
breathing... recently I seemed to have a reaction to black berries

that
were
frozen so I will have to not do that again..

Lee, with a list for migraines. a list for hives. Alist for

breathing
difficulty, and a list for puking

Have you ever been tested for food allergies? You seem to have
multiple
foods that your body reacts to in negative ways.

it doesn't make me crave more, but I am learning my body really
doesn't
like
it, not even in splenda form, Lee

Unfortunately, they are 3 small cupcakes. More of a tease. I

won't
buy
them
anymore. Plus sugar causes cravings so I try and avoid it if

I
can.

I kinda wish you hadn't posted this... not a chocolate

eater
but
that
does
sound good. Lee

Quick question: does anybody here know how many ww
points
the
hostess
100 calorie packs are?

I believe they are 2 points.

BTW, a general rule of thumb is 1 point per 50

calories.
Here
is
the
exact
formula:

points= [calories + (4 * fat grams) - (10 * fiber

grams)]
/
50
with
a
maxium
of 4 fiber grams allowed.

Check the product information for these 100 calorie
packs.
My
WW
friend
says the chocolate ones have more fiber, and are just 1
point
per
package!

You are correct. I had the Golden ones here but not the
chocolate.
I
googled
"hostess cupcakes" and found the NI online.

Chocolate: 100 cal/3g fat/5g fiber = 1.4 points===1

pt
Golden: 100 cal/3g fat/3g fiber = 1.6 points===2
pt
Carrot Cake: 100 cal/3g fat/3g fiber = 1.6 points===2 pt

I count the choc ones as 2 points.

Look the Hostess 100 cal snacks were written up in adrants.com which
is a prominent marketing and advertising news blog. The blog comments
on a micro-site that Hostess made to promote these new snacks. In
this site you can get a napkin holder to serenade your favorite
flavor. It's a little silly but it is sort of funny too...
