I like oats with:

mashed or sliced banana, strawberries, blueberries, and sliced almonds
OR a nut butter, cinnamon.

chopped apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, raisins, walnuts.

dried apricot, sliced almonds, dried blueberries, milk.

dried cherries, almonds, and almond extract.

plums, some kind of nut, and maybe a little butter (maybe saute the
plums in butter in the pan first, then add everything and cook it all
together).

There are lots of different concoctions. Most include some type of
dried fruit and nut (or maybe protein powder). To sweeten if you want,
add a little honey and vanilla extract. Add applesauce instead of milk.
Just experiment with it. I find that bananas really go very well with
oats.

I would have to agree, plain oats and milk are also very good.

I like them with unsweetened applesauce and a dash of Spenda syrup.

Usually I just have mine with cinnamon and a tbs of raisins, but on
occasion I'll add something different, like:

1 Tbs of peanut butter
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup mixed berries
2 tbs trail mix
2 tbs flaked coconut
1 tbs swiss miss hot apple cider mix
1/2 chopped apple

I don't use milk on my oatmeal--I like it nice and thick.

I like oatmeal. But obviously your tastebuds are not my tastebuds.
What are some of your favorite food? If you like pizza try cooking the
oats in tomato juice and oregano and top with lean turkey sausage. If
you like apple pie try adding natural applesauce (no sugar added) and
cinnamon. There are lots of options, so be creative.

Have you tried other hot cereals? Cream of wheat, corn meal, and best
of all....Red River cereal...I actually like these three better than
oatmeal if I can't load them up with other stuff like fruit. Red River
is great on its own.

Never heard of putting butter on hot cereal. I just put milk and if I'm
spurging, some brown sugar. Okay, so REALLY splurging would be cereal
cream instead of milk.
