Nitrate free bacon??
thanks for the help everyone
poohbear wrote: Where do you find this stuff? That's all Atkins mentions and yet I have talked to a butcher and he has never heard of such a thing. All bacon is Nitrated in order to cure it. Does anybody have a thought on this? And if so, where can I find it in Ontario, Canada? Thanks in advance. There was a thread about this topic just a short while ago. I just buy the cheapest bacon I can find, and soak it in water for about an hour or so, then I cook it. The nitrates (or most of them) soak out of the bacon, problem solved. PoohBear |
