Default Best provider?

My new isp doesn't offer nntp, whats the best subscription news server
out there? I am not interested in binary stuff, just want to be able
to post/read from a reader, not the web

news.individual.net is good and somewhat inexpensive.

I'll second that. I 've been using it for quite some time. It's about
$13/year.

Interesting. I've got sorta the opposite issue. I've been reading
and posting through the web for a while. I've been putting up
with Google.s problems. I originally did that because I traveled
for work and I never knew what this week's network would block.
Now that I no longer travel, somewhere along the way I have
decided I want a web based reader.

If some NSP offers a web-based service with killfiles and the
usual set of features expected of a real newsreader I will be
happy to pay for that service. But my ISP does offer NNTP and
I've set up my reader at home to point to several servers but I
almost never use it.

Eh, young whippersnapper.

Try news.individual.net cheap and good. there are others free but I
don't know how good.

Some things are just better left alone. Usenet is one of them. I don't
do web based groups, and yes, I'm an old fart, too.
