I wonder how I will deal with the flabby rolls of excess skin.

I can already tell my body isn't going to be one of those where the skin
shrinks back nicely, even with exercise.

I think I might look worse in some ways.

I won't have the money for plastic surgery and I am afraid to die for
cosmetic reasons.

5'7" tall 245 pounds and my belly looks like I am 12 months pregnant. And I
have had a c-section so my skins hangs funnny down there.

I just want to be skinny enough where I can look down and see, as Oprah puts
it, my VaJayJay. I can't see her right now.
Sorry TMI LoL!

But I am serious though...

Have you ever considered changing your screen name to help change your
life?...You seem to post with things you feel but never respond to anyone(or
I'm missing them all)when a question is sent back...Are you a member of
WW?...Just what is your plan...GG

Hmmm...I usually do respond to questions. A lot going on lately.
Perhaps I just forgot...

If anyone had a question for me,and I didn't answer it, post it again here
if you like.

Yeah, the posting name isn't helping.

Right now I am just exercising enough to gain strength to move on to the
heavy duty exercises.

I started on the treadmill Feb 1st 08 at 1 mile a day. Today I walked almost
two miles. I walk about 3.2 miles an hour.

I am planning on progressing to other exercises, for other areas of my body,
every week.

I am starting so slow as I haven't exercised since the late nineties and not
much then either.

I am also doing portion control and watching calories and fat.

And I am now at a 32 ounce DrPepper every other day. I plan on going down by
cup sizes and spreading the time between them farther apart until I feel
comfortable having one as a occasional treat.

My loose skin tucks nicely below my belt. As long as I keep my pants on the
belly doesn't look too bad.

My magic tips:

1: Change the posting name! You are now the Might Slimming One!

2: Aim to lose slowly. This gives the skin a chance to shrink to fit.

3: Use a lot of nice body oil or moisturising stuff: massage it in well
every time you shower. The massage & stimulation help the skin to
retain elasticity and snap-back factor, as does the moisturising element.

4: Give it time! The skin will shrink quite a lot, but it will take
time to go down, and if you have been VERY large, you may not lose all
of it.

It won't be a magic cure-all. Age has a bearing on it too: the older
you are, the less easy it is for the skin to recover by itself. Save
the cash you would have spent on junk food and excess food, silly sodas,
and other expensive garbage. By the time you may need surgery, you
could have a lot of the cash ready for it. And it isn't purely
cosmetic: excess skin has serious health implications.

Good luck.

What effect can excess skin have on health?

It's in the folds... The folds hold sweat and can lead to unpleasant
skin rashes and infections: candida and thrush to start with, and if
something like a thrush infection gets a bacterial infection as well,
you can be in unpleasant trouble for a fair few months. Maintaining a
high standard of personal hygiene does not always help.

Interesting. That makes sense, however, does not match my experience, so
far. At 320 pounds I had skin health issues in the fold between the belly
and leg. At normal weight the skin is pink/white and healthy, although you
are right about there being folds, wrinkles, and such.
