Chris Taylor Jr wrote:
Below Top 10 reasons fat people are not accepted: 10. They are slow and slothlike, lumbering towards their destination, blocking you from yours. I am 365 pounds at 6'3" tall. Not sure what that is medically but I would call that morbidly obese since I am 140 pounds overweight at least. although most never guess my weight to be more than 280-300 (I wish I was that light) I am faster than most people think. Faster than most people "are" I also tend to move rather quickly. I do not like "wasting" time and moveming from point to point any slower than needed is a wasting of precious time. 9. The(y) cost society millions of dollars in obesity related diseases. I cost society nothing. I have not had so much as a common cold for as long as I can remember (over 20 years) my cholesterol BP etc.. are all FINE. (fingers crossed) 8. They ruin your dinner out because they are so digusting to look at as they feed ravenously. Actually I eat suprisingly little for my size. When I go away on trips (many) we usually eat at buffets simple because of variety and affordability. I eat one very large plate of salad (Obsessed with salad which makes atkins hard) and a normalplate of food. I can never get through more. I simply am full at that point. 7. They smell like sweat and **** from the inability to reach themselves. I never smell. my body can produce some very strong odors (even before I was overweight) so hygiene is extremely important to me. I keep deoderant in the car and shower sometimes twice a day if I even think I am getting the slightest bit smelly and I can reach just fine thankyou. 6. They don't bathe nearly as often as normal people. I bath more than the average person does. being oveweight I MUST bath more often. 5. They complain about everything and are generally rude and unpleasant since they are so miserable. I only complain about people like you and the ass hole politicians who are throwing our freedom and rights away left and right and nobody is doing anything about it. 4. They are always single-minded, looking for their next trough of food. Most of my intake is a matter of convenience. on the run all the time so I eat on the run. Now I have learned to cook a crap load of food on sundays and prep it for individual meals throughout the week. I basically make my own convenience food except its healty. I hate eating at fast food. I LOVE heaping mounds of vegetables. something you can not get at fast food. but I also do notusually have an hour to stop at a restaurant if not longer. 3. At movie theaters and on airplanes they always selfishly invade your space. In theaters I usually wait till things are filling up and then pick a spot where I have a seat to my left and right open. its as uncomfortable for me as it is for you you know. 2. They rarely try to lose weight and prefer to remain gluttonous hogs. They usually lie about their diets. It is not nearly as easy as you think. every GENE in your body RESISTS any attempt to remove the fat short of cutting it out. your body WANTS to keep the fat. in HS etc.. I was EXTREMELY active. so I had a ferocious (sp) appetite. I was huge (6'0" 185 pounds) without an ounce of fat on me. When I went to college my appetite remained and my activity level whent from extreme to ZIP I blew up in under a year. since then I have been FIGHTING to lose the weight. I can maintain easy enough without even watching what I eat. 395 for the last 5+ years. (now 365) Atkins is so far the FIRST method that looks to be possibly effective. I have so far lost 35 pounds. I quite atkins for a while (stopped working I now know this was a "stall") as eating LC is VERY Expensive. never gained even one pound back. still 365 7 months later. I am LC'ing again and plan to stick with it this time no matter the cost. eventually my amazingly fortunate immune system etc.. WILL fail me unless I drop the weight. hardest thing is excercise. no TIME. (and do not say make time the amount of time in a day is finite and unalterable) you either have time or you do not. When I was working I was doing 5 12 hours shifts a week. that leaves VERY little time for me. Work Drive Sleep Drive Work Drive Sleep etc.. repeat for 6 out of 7 days. (nights) My activity level throughout most of a day consisted of sitting at a desk answering tech support questions on a phone. Not conducive to losing weight. the only reason I am not COMPLETELY out of shape in all regards is that my muscles have to work pretty damned hard just to MOVE me. I have since been laid off (they are going out of buisness it seems I hope they survive until the economy picks up again) and now I have a LOT of time on my hands and I plan to make very good use of it. 1. They get in the way of looking at normal, thin, good-looking people. ahh pitty pitty for you. Very true on all counts. And they are this kind of beast by their own choosing. If they really exercised some self discipline and were self-respecting people they would not be morbidly obese. Self Discipline is only half of it. Losing weight is NOT easy. I would like to see any normal not overweight person EAT till they gain 30 pounds and then try to lose it. it is NOT easy. your body resists at every step of the way. even atkins is a CHEAT. you are TRICKING your body into doing something it does not want to do (burn fat) by strictly controlling your diet so it does not know its not getting what it "thinks" it needs (sugar carbs etc..) and the natural process of switching to fat stores kicks in. I hope to have lost 140 pounds by next summer. I also plan next summer to participate in the MS 150 bike tour. (150 mile bike tour in NJ) I participated this year as a volunteer ham radio operator and thought it was the coolest thing I have seen in a while and looks like a lot of fun. I have a short term goal of 300 by christmas (not sure if that is possible but I am going to try) why 300 ? cause then I can stop going to the vet to get weighed (only scale that will weigh me) and can buy a normal scale (they all stop at 300) Gives me even more incentive to drop the weight as I would NEVER make it (MS 150) at my current weight. To go on your tact. I hate high metabolism people. they have it so easy. can eat as much as they want and not gain an ouch. my freaking brother is like this. he can down a gallon of ice cream and not gain an ounce and he is the epitomy of lazy. NEVER excercises I GET far more physical activity in a day than he does. SUCKS. so bite me. If you look at the top of the window you are viewing this message in, you'll see that this thread is crossposted to the 'usuals' (soc.support.fat-acceptance, alt.support.diet.low-carb, soc.singles, alt.support.diet.weigh****chers, misc.fitness.weights). These groups tend to get crossposted to when some loser wants to **** in the sandbox and get the other kids to do the fighting while it sits back and laughs. Followups set revek |

Those in the mfw camp generally laugh at and demean those in any of the fat acceptance groups. Self-pitying fatasses who won't help themselves show up and are examined with fascination, sort of like roadkill. Then they leave. It's good to have a place to run to if you can't take the heat. But, I get the feeling you're not like that Chris. You should stick around mfw for a while and see if you like it. I'll bet you could learn some useful info. I've learned a ton since I started hanging out in mfw. So, in the spirit of mfw, train harder, eat less, and welcome aboard. - HW |

Hah that is funny. but alas this is one case where I would take the High Gas
Mileage over the Road Hogging bulk anyday. anyday at all. it is simply not healthy being 365 pounds. not healthy at all. scares me in fact. I walk with paranoia knowing that one wrong step and my mass could snap my ankly like a twig. I am amazed I have not broken a bone yet. the few times I do "fall or trip" is actually quite funny. I very activily "give into" the fall just to prevent putting any undue pressure on the smaller joints (ankles wrists) for fear of breaking them. I did some basic figuring on just JOGGING. wow. nearly half a ton of force on EACH ankle EACH step. Very scary indeed. That is why for now I am limiting myself to bike riding. low impact on the joints but man if I fall. 365 pounds hitting the asphalt will likely result in a lot more problems than road rash. :-( Plus bike riding is dual purpose. I lose weight and get fit (too slow to be useful to my "confidence") but also semi efective transportation. I plan to dual purpose it. I LOVE going to the movies. their is a theatre that I would guess is "roughly" 1-1.5 hours a way by bike. (12 minutes by car but most uphill) figure I can ride to theatre. See a movie and then ride home. I get excercise and immediate reward at the same time. Now I just have to work up to being able toride that far. :-) Chris Taylor http://www.nerys.com/ "Jim Ledford" wrote in message ... try to think of it like this. food is expensive and those high metabolism people are like a car that gets poor gas mileage. |
