I consider tomatoes to be such miracle food. Tasty, filling, and
almost calorie free. Obviously they need to be complemented by a good
diet and plenty of exercise. I am not advocating a "tomato diet" or
anything. But lately, I like to eat 2-3 big tomatoes after my meals to
fill my stomach.

3 tomatoes =75 calories, hardly calorie free. Also 15 grams of
carbohydrate.

I had one heirloom tomato with lunch. I could never eat three in one
sitting. But, I only eat fresh tomatoes this time of year when they're in
season at the farmers' markets. I can't stand the tasteless grocery store
ones.

I had my first ever fried red tomato the other day and it was
excellent. Just done in a little olive oil.

My favorite way is sliced tomato with sliced fresh mozzarella cheese and
fresh basil leaves. Drizzle with red wine vinegar and olive oil and a meal
fit for royalty!

You can also broil them or put them on the grill. I use Roma tomatoes and
get rid of most of the seeds and salt the tomato and then add just a little
parmesan. If grilled, I wait until they are blackish on the bottom and
cheese is melted. I hate veggies but I do love to eat those.
