Default A Christmas updatey thingy

Hi folks,

Well, it's been a while. I've been lurking but not contributing much, for
which let me apologise. I've also not been posting updates. Not sure why.
When I go up, I don't feel the urge to tell people - rather just to get on
with the next week and wait until I've got good news to share. And then
when I go down, it never seems to be by enough to shout about, and being as
I'm around goal most of the time anyway, I feel bad mentioning it to around
those who aren't and might just think I'm making a fuss about nothing
anyway! *grin*

Still. A few weeks ago I went up a bit, and have now gradually worked my
way back down. At yesterday's WI I came in at 1.2 down on last week, just
under goal, which is great. Just in time too. It's been helped by the fact
that as we're doing Christmas elsewhere, there's no food in my house!
Literally - we've been running it right down so as to defrost the freezer.
Besides which - money has gotten really tight, so it's been back to basics
on the cuisine front - no silly treats etc around.

Today however it all begins. I've excercised up a whole heap of APs, as
ever. We're not due over to my parents' place today until after dinner,
which limits the damage possibilities for today at least As for
tomorrow, well, I'm doing the catering so although it ain't exactly WW
friendly, it's a darn sight more than it would have been otherwise - I've
steered us all into the healthier choices as far as possible. Things may go
horribly wrong when it comes to the Christmas pudding tho........well, I've
made it, so it'd be rude not to eat some, right?! *grin* Let's hope there's
no Christmas cake around tho.....that's one of my trigger foods! Still - my
Mum should know better than that, right?

To my mind there are too many food related events between now and the New
Year. I'm just going to aim to do the best I can - indulge in moderation,
and remember that this is but once a year, and I'm entitled to a little
leeway from time to time. I know that WW works, and I'll be working it come
January 2nd!

So, Merry Christmas to one and all. May we all have a fab time, and I hope
2005 brings us all closer to where we want to be

Krys congrats on being under goal, not an easy achievement with the
lead up to christmas. You can shout about small losses, because they
all add up. It helps motivate peolpe so see that goal weight is
acheivable. Good luck obver the next week or so, and rapport in
iagain to let us know how you got on.

Thanks Michelle I guess I should know better - this group is so
supportive and helpful, and it's wrong of me to prejudge responses.
That'll teach me.
