Has the def. of Obese changed?
I learned in school to be a hundred pounds or more was considered obese. Recently I have noticed a lot of articles stating that 30 or more pounds is obese. Has CDC changed the medical definition? The reason I am wondering is stupid. I have less than five pounds left to go,,which will make a one hundred pound weight loss. If I was obese at 30 pounds was I morbidly obese at 100 pounds more? |

Has the def. of Obese changed?
100 pounds or more has always been morbidly obese AFAIK, and used to be
the marker for weight loss surgery, but they have lowered the obese standards to about 25-30 pounds now, and do the surgery for far less than a 100 pounds. -- Cheri clinton . wrote in message ...
