starches and new Mayo study
This is very interesting but I am not sure what it means Does it imply
that high sat fats and Atkins related diets are superior or does it imply that 'starches' are the evil doers (to quote our president)? wrote in message news:HXesb.12282$f7.645358@localhost... released today http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releas...-hsf110703.php margo |

starches and new Mayo study
The problem with most of the article I have read about high fat diet such as
Atkins is they never do a comparison of fat on the body to muscle mass ratio. They only say people on a low carb diet loses more weight then other diets, but how much of this weight is really fat loss not just water and muscle loss. I would love to see some real research on comparing apples to apples for a change. It makes little difference what the scales say if this weight loss in not mostly fat loss. Good point (re sat fat). Everything I've read says that unsaturated
fats are superior. "South Beach" rather than Atkins. The Mediterranean diet with olive oil as its chief fat is well accepted to reduce heart disease and be healthy. I'm surprised that the Mayo Clinic would test a high saturated fat diet. "Julianne" wrote in message news:nwgsb.20427$j_4.1597@lakeread05...
