If someone did see that other POPCORN thread that where you got to talking about the AB method for making popcorn, it is quite easy to see why, a LC ng, one might comment about a discussion of the use of a corn product (corn on the cob, HFCS, cornbread, etc.). Knowing you as I do, it made perfect sense to me, but for someone who knows nothing about you, I'm sure you can imagine how it might sound a little off. Popcorn is not on the recommended LC food list. Well, that is true. I don't plan on eating popcorn very often, and honestly I haven't eaten it in so long I can't remember when I ate it the last time. However, I don't think that an occasional foray into some popcorn is going to make anyone fat -- at least, that's not how I got fat. The 400-500 grams of pasta and brown rice I used to eat every day and extremely low fat level I used to eat is what made me fat, along with living with someone for years who loves ice cream and beer. -- Bob M remove ".x" to reply |

Peter,
How much popcorn do you eat at one sitting? And do you use oil popped or air? Thanks for your attention to this matter. -- Darawen Littlestich of Mosskirk marengo wrote: MaryL wrote: Popcorn is one of the things I gave up after I was diagnosed with diabetes (especially knowing that I am unlikely to be satisfied with "a little bit"). news I tried Alton Brown's popcorn recipe, which is basically taking popcorn kernels and putting them in a paper bag closed with two staples, and then microwaving until about 5 seconds separate pops. snip This is a large bowl of popcorn and way high on the carb content. I don't see why you can't halve the recipe. I don't see how he can use metal staples in a microwave? And yeah, halve the recipe. Should be fine :-) -- Peace, Pen -- Pawbreakers - The Candy for Cats! http://www.pawbreakers.com |
