I need help!!!!
I am really struggling!
I started low carbing back on 1-5-03 I lost 47lbs. in about 6 months. Since then, I really am not doing much at all. I did introduce myself to peanuts!!! I suppose that is what is holding me up. Are there others out there who do eat peanuts and still lose? I hate to go back to the beginning!! LOL. Any other suggestions? Thanks. Joan 235.5/193/159 |

As you lose, you need more exercise and/or less calories to keep losing at a decent pace. -- Vic 258/216/180 Since 3/24/04 May Challenge - 20 lbs. Joan says,
Any other suggestions? Becky asks, Peanuts are rather high calorie, aren't they? Aren't all nuts? Leave 'em off for a while and see if you start again. Are you eating because you are hungry or just like the taste? Isn't most of our problem because we eat when we really aren't that hungry, but eat either because 1. it's time to eat, 2. we are with friends and feel like we must 3. we like the taste and food in general. Depends on how many peanuts. I have a tablespoon of peanut butter once in a
while, makes a nice snack, but when I eat other nuts--almonds and walnuts--I always count them and eat a half ounce at a time. If you're on Atkins and you stayed on Induction, the book warns against staying low more than 6 months. (And it inconsistantly discusses staying low more than 6 months under direct supervison if you still have 100+ to lose at that point, but who ever tracks all of those ifs). So did you stay at 20? Doing that triggers stalls in plenty. Some in week 3, some later. And are you still in ketosis? I did introduce myself to peanuts!!! I suppose that is what is holding me up. Are there others out there who do eat peanuts and still lose? Did you stall as soon as you tried peanuts? If so what does it matter if others can eat peanuts and lose? |

There's a reason treats are called "treats" and not "meals." Sugarfree junk food is still junk. I don't consider nuts to be junk, but they are high in calories. When my dinner hasn't had that much fat in it, such as a stirfry of lean meat/chicken and veggies, I can usually fit in some nuts for an evening snack. If my dinner had, say, cheese sauce, I don't have the calorie budget left over to munch nuts. I suggest always measuring a portion of nuts, because if you eat them from the can/jar, you'll probably munch way too many. 168/125/125 LC since 2/18/97 maintaining since 3/17/99 -- jamie ) "There's a seeker born every minute." |

Quit eating so much and get off your fat behind for some exercise.
