Low-Cost Flax O Meal Cinnamon?
So I discovered I really love Flax-O-Meal. The Cinnamon granola thing is so
delicious... however, at $6 per small bag, I can't afford that many of them. Are there cheaper places online to get it? Jen |

Low-Cost Flax O Meal Cinnamon?
Jen,
You can make your own flax cereal at home that is better than the packaged stuff. Here's how. You need to buy ground flax meal (available at Trader Joe's for $2.19 a big bag) and a low carb vanilla whey protein powder. You'll also need grated no-sugar coconut, a small amount of oat bran (also available at Trader Joes) or if you want it lower carb, wheat bran. For five serving: In a big bowl mix 10 tablespoons of flax meal, 1 scoop protein powder, and then as much of the bran and coconut as you like. I use 3 tbs of coconut and 3 tbs of bran. Stir it all up and add 2 tsp of cinnamon. Keep it in a closed plastic bag. To use, just stir in boiling water until it is the right thickness for you. The recipe is very flexible so don't obsess about exact quantities. It always tastes good. Sweeten it with splenda or DaVinci sugar free syrup or eat plain. -- Jenny - Low Carbing for 4 years.
