Hi Carol Ann,

I've lost just 1 pound this month (practicing maintenance?) :-)

Now weigh 215.

May and June have been weird months for me in many ways. I started a new
job that involved relocating, and have been staying with friends since early
May. It makes low-carbing more difficult without my own kitchen. Although
my loss rate has slowed, I've been towing the line and keeping my blood
glucose (T2 diabetic) completely in normal range with just my diet. My
clothes continue to get too big and my appearance is still changing despite
the weight loss slowdown.

I would like to join the July challenge with 3 pounds, with 213 as a goal.
I'm vowing to redouble my efforts.. My longer term goal is to reach my goal
weight of 180 by my birthday: 12/26/2004. That's seven months and 35
pounds away; it's doable!

You do realize that you've been at your overall goal for a good while now,
right? Well, perhaps that JIMO

I think that's a good thing, right?

I've been very focused on exercise and maintenance lately,
more so than I have been focused on actual weight loss. I'm
currently eating too many calories to drop, but not so many
as to gain, other than what I hope I am gaining through
exercise. I want to hit 175 just to say I dropped an even
100 pounds (that vanity streak I suspect) but also, I think
I'm looking for a long term maintenance weight of about
177-180, I already know I can't maintain that weight unless
I first drop down to 175 (possibly as low as 171) or
below...this water thing ya know. If I bump up the carbs
now I go to 185-187 pounds very quickly where I stabilize.

I'm operating under the belief that, if I can get to 175 or
slightly below, I will ultimately stabilize around 180 or
so. I know from sitting at this weight level for a couple
months now that 180 or so is an excellent weight for me in
terms of appearance and how I feel.

Are you and Carol Ann still planning on doing the fall get
together in Atlanta?

Good morning, Carol Ann!

How are you doing? How is Morgan? Bet she's growing like a weed!

Put me down for a final weight of 221 for June. Made goal plus. Phewww!
;-)

My weight loss is really starting to slow down, although lately I've been
'stepping' up my exercise. My real goals are to increase my
exercise/activity level, to stop trying to force my body to lose too
quickly, and to stop obsessing over a bunch of numbers on a scale. I'm just
going to try to enjoy being active this summer and let the pounds fall
'when' they may.

Please sign me up for July, but put me down for 3 pounds. If it comes off,
so be it. I'll just keep plugging away.

Thank you so much for being the keeper of the Challenge. This is such a big
incentive and help to me!

June final: 221 pounds
July goal: 218 pounds

Well, you won't bumpt the carbs back to prior, almost 100 lbs ago, levels.
And if you do it very slowly while exercising hard, you might not even
notice the water weight increase. That's assuming you lose some fat to
counterbalance the water.

Yes, I agree as far as the appearance part, and I'll take your word as far
as how you feel

Yes! We had a lovely time last October and definitely plan to do it again.
I hope you and your wife, and others here, can join us.

Carol Ann,

265...hit my 13 pound JUNE GOAL right on the number (by .4 pounds
according to the digital scale) and one day early. Yee haw - that's
127 pounds gone with just 40 more to go!

Since it's been getting tougher to lose the last few pounds, let's set
a JULY GOAL of just 12 pounds. That would get me down to 253. And it's
been a long, long, long time since I've been way down there.

Thanks!
