Recommend BMI scale
I am thinking of getting a BMI scale but there are so many choices out
there. Can anybody recommend a good brand? I leave the determination of "good" to your value system. SweetVenom Bob To write to me, delete OneTwoThree |

Recommend BMI scale
Beverly,
I have had a Tanita for a few months and threw out the literature. In the evenings, I am like 22 percent body fat and in the mornings I am closer to 25. I know hydration makes a difference but in what way? Does it give an artificial high or low number? j "Beverly" wrote in message ... "SweetVenom Bob" wrote in message ... My guess would be if you're properly hydrated you'll get a more accurate reading. That said, I always measure mine in the morning when I weigh. At least it's consistent and I can measure the progress. Beverly "Beverly" wrote in message ... "SweetVenom Bob" wrote in message ... I'd highly recommend the Tanita as well - they are the leader in home
body fat scales. I've also found a company called Pheonix, which makes an excellent BF scale (even more accurate than the Tanita I think) at a good price. Note 2 things: - as others have noted, there is a right and wrong time to measure your body fat (depending on hydration, not within 2 hours of exercising, not within 2 hours of eating, etc.) - BF, although a good inidication of healthy body composition (better than just weight, or BMI) is still *NOT* to be taken as gospel... everyone has a different level of *essential* fat contained within their bones and on their body, so it's important to remember that BF should be looked at in ranges and depending on your genetic make-up, your healthy BF might be at the top, or the bottom, of that range. Recommend BMI scale
I've come across some scales on Amazon.com that also measure hydration, in
addition to body fat and weight. How reliable they are i do not know. "julianne" wrote: Beverly, I have had a Tanita for a few months and threw out the literature.
