If you want to use that as an excuse to quit, go ahead... it's up to
you. It's as convenient as any excuse you'll think up anyway...

wow, that was pretty nasty.
thanks.
oh, and so very not true.

Sorry if that's how you see it. I call it as I see it. I understand
being sad to lose your leader, it has actually happened to me (one of
the two fired that I know of was my leader) but to quit because of it???

I think that once your tandrum is over, you'll realize that you're worth
much more than that.. hopefully..

You have no idea what you are talking about.

I can go only by what you are posting..

huh? I have no idea what you are talking about. It seems to me that your
playing a huge game of leapster. maybe re reading would help.

Why on earth would you think that it would be cause for me to keep eating
healthy? That seems to be what your saying.
It sounds like WW programing to me.

What do you want here? exactly? you come in crying that your leader's been
fired, and that you'll quit because it sucks and the other leader's an idiot
and then some.

When I (and Audrey) try to "keep you going" and to keep you from quitting
you get all huffy about the whole thing..

This is a WW newsgroup. Support for people following the WW program, so
yeah, we're pro-Weight Watchers... if that's "programming" then it's the
healthiest "programming" I've ever seen.. it got me to goal, and kept me
there. I'm not saying it's the only way, it's my way.. and it is what this
group is about.

As I've said, I call them as I see them.. if you're not happy with that,
ignore my posts.

Again.. your journey, not mine... nuff said..

Knit Chic

I became a WW life member in 1974. Since then I've moved, had three
kids, different jobs etc. I've also tried lots of different diets though
I have never tried Jenny Craig or LA Weight Loss. The diets I tried
were Bob Greene's, Atkins, South Beach. I always return to Weight
Watchers because it is the most sensible plan. You can eat whatever you
like as long as you stay within the number of calories (points) needed
for you to lose weight, eat a certain number of fruits and vegetables
and have other foods from the basic food groups. You are supposed to
have two milks a day, which I used to do religiously, years ago. Now I
may have just one but I can still lose and maintain my weight. I can
travel all over the world, eat out frequently and still lose or maintain
my weight. If I want to splurge on a fancy meal I can plan for it or if
I don't plan I can use the things I've learned from WW so it doesn't
become a permanent gain.

At my age most members have joined because of health reasons more so
than vanilty. It means a lot to have energy, low cholesterol and blood
pressure, knees and legs that work efficiently and overall good health.
No matter how wonderful your leader was, and I am sure he was, this is
all about you and only about you. At my current center I have gone to
three or four different meetings. As I've mentioned my leader isn't
100% what I am looking for but she is upbeat, gets me motivated and I've
met some fantastic men and women along the way. I truly admire my
friend, who I met at my meeting, who has lost and kept off half her body
weight for more than two years. A college student lost 90 pounds and
was ready to meet the world with energy and a smile on her face when she
graduated. Seeing people here like Gary and Doug keep me going.
Stormee and Willow make comments that inspire me when I might be tempted
to quit.

Willow must face so much frustration weekly when her members for
whatever reason don't return. It has nothing to do with products, which
I mentioned I don't buy, but with the sense of commuinity so you are not
on this journey alone. Think about if you want to lose weight and why
and then decide what is best for you. I may be wrong but I think Willow
is speaking from caring and concern.

It is frustrating to see members give up on themselves, so many times.
Often, members were on the verge of giving up and then something "clicked"
and suddently it worksed So, I'm always thinking : you're giving up maybe
the day before things turn around!!! Drives me nuts.

In This case, I WAS talking out of concern, trying to help. There is
obviously a maturity issue here that goes beyond weight loss.. not much we
can do about that.

Hep.. one day.. ;o)

I would have a hard time being a leader because I would be so concerned
when members dropped out. I have a hard time when the kids I tutor stop
coming to class. Some do so well and then fall back under the influence
of their peers.

I'm also a teacher, and in both case you have to accept that you can't "save
them all" and that eventually, the student/member will "get it" and get back
on track. That's the only way to survive. In a class of 35 student.. if you
can help 5, you're done great!
