Wow!!! Those are tough! I did a few of them during my workout tonight and I
can really feel it.

Thanks for posting the working yesterday. I printed it out and will
incorporate it into my week.

Yeah, they are tough. At least for me too. Last week Ahmed had me do
them for two times down an 80-foot corridor -- more than I'd done
before -- and then followed up by an Olympic lifting session. My
quads were really sore the next few days. And they usually don't get
sore because I use them so much. These will also get you pretty out
of breath, unless you're a lot more fit than I am :-).

If you glance at my "food & exercise" posts, you'll see another one of
these workouts every so often -- typically on Fridays. But the basic
principle is the same.

I'll definitely pay more attention. I want to get more in shape, and get my
legs and upper body strong for skiing this winter and
backpacking/mountaineering this spring and summer.

I found a Bay Area hiking club and will start joining them this Saturday. It
should be fun and a chance to meet more people who like to do outdoors stuff
like me.

Sounds like fun. All your walks sounds so great -- something I'd like
to do more of someday. Currently I don't seem to have much unclaimed
time in my schedule, but maybe I could do something occasionally. I
don't have any friends who are walkers, though, really. One couple
who are friends of mine used to go hiking in the Shenandoah but they
seem to have given it up. And there isn't much of anywhere to go just
setting out from my house.

That was me too. Most of my walks and hikes have been alone. I've spent a
lot of time trying to find folks who enjoy the outdoors things I do. I still
love my hikes alone, but it will be fun to be in a group as well.
