Default My leader was fired.

It sucks.
He wasn't fired do to his weight, I'm 100% sure of that.
He is a great leader and WW has screwed up big time w/ getting rid of him
Most of the other leaders at my center suck or are just stupid.

Default My leader was fired.

WW doesn't fire a leader because the leader is overweight, unless absolutely
nothing is done about it... and even then it takes a loooooooooooooong time
because of discrimination issues..

There's a policy, for everybody at NACO (north america, company owned) that
gives a LOT of slack to staff about their weight (too much in my opinion..
but that's another story)...

As long as a staff is "trying to lose weight" nobody will be fired.. had to
be other issues..

After 5 years working for WW, in two different territories, I've seen only 2
person fired, and they were given a LOT MORE leeway than I would have given
had I been the boss... which is probably why I'll never be the boss...

Well, what I do know is that he was the best leader that they had. The
other Thurs. leader does baby talk, gives bad info and has a stupid clacker
that she clacks when ppl are doing well.
Honestly, someone should shove that clacker up her ass.
They keep idiots, and get rid of the best person they had.

Maybe you could talk to that leader, let him/her know that the clacker
really isn't that great an idea.. or look around for another leader.

The great thing about Weight Watchers, is that there's something for
everybody. I'm sorry you lost your leader.. really, but keep in mind that
each leader has his/her own way to lead meetings, and that members get to
chose the leader that fits them.

I'm a very high energy leader, I move a lot, I laugh a lot, make jokes... my
members love it. I had several members come in and tell me that it wasn't
their thing.. or that I was annoying. I guided them toward more... hum...
sedate leaders. They don't have to like me, there's all sorts of leaders out
there.

A different leader isn't stupid, or an idiot.. it's just a different leader.
Each have their following... which means people who think they are great. To
dismiss them as idiots is not only dissing the leader, but the members as
well..

Keep looking, there's got to be a leader for you out there.

Write a letter addressed to the manager of the center. I know they have
been cracking down on my leader because she was lax about people wearing
name tags. I would gag if I heard baby talk or a clacker at a meeting.
Willow, are leaders judged by the amount of WW sales they make? I
rarely by WW products.

Product sales make a different mainly on the staff's salary. We get
commissions.. unless you sell a WHOLE LOT (which I do actually) it's not
worth fighting for..

Leaders get evaluated on EVERYTHING, sales per members, retention (number of
members coming in week to week) member service (name tags, using names etc)

All those evaluations actually means... not a thing.. ;op

What I mean by that is, we get evaluated, and told "You need to work on
product sales" but if you don't.. nothing happens.. same for everything.
It's up to a leader to be "the best one can be" and work on selling more,
serving the members better etc.

I'm good at sales, because I'm a good buyer. I sell the stuff I bought and
use.. I have everything, and use everything and enjoy everything. I don't
care about #s... I have 1 meeting/week, so it's not about money.. I just
want my member to use the tools that makes it easier on them...

I'm not so good with the details of member service.. I constantly forget the
name tags, and don't use names as much as I should.. (cause back home you do
NOT call a lady older than you by her first name, it's an insult... can't
shake that off me!) I'm working on it though. My TM is very good with that
part of it, and have taught me a lot.. I'll get it down some day..

It takes an awful lot for WW to fire somebody.. an awfull lot. I've seen
things that you wouldn't believe, that were known.. and ignored.. in both
territories..

That leader isn't interested that no one there wants the clacker. People
just sit there and look at her, no interest. I go to that meeting because
it's when I can go, I would like to go to another ... but I can't.


The great thing about Weight Watchers, is that there's something for
everybody. I'm sorry you lost your leader.. really, but keep in mind that

Different is ok, even good. This leader is stupid. She was telling ppl
last week that David Burg 1/4 pound hotdogs were 2 pts each. I called the
David Burg co, because they are my fav. hotdog and I knew that there was no
way that they could be 2 pts. They are 10.

maybe. but i really don't like the giddy girls and have found that the male
leaders are more full of information than giggles. If the women could
giggle and still get out good info, that's great. They just giggle and call
it a meeting.

In your letter be sure to say the qualities your leader had that you
really like. He could have been fired for reasons you just don't know
such as missing meetings, being late too often, etc. I tell my leader
when I want her to adress certain things. Unfortunately she doesn't
cook so she talks too much about fast food. Her husband is the cook in
their family. Sometimes I'll just ask can we talk about what we eat for
breakfast, or for lunch etc. I've been doing this for so many years
that I feel very comfortable asking for the information I want. If my
leader misquoted the points for a product I would bring in the
information at the next meeting. We all make mistakes and the important
thing is just learning from them. My friend at meetings spends a lot of
time reading labels so she knows things like all 100 calorie Hostess
cupcake packs are not the same number of points.

It is really difficult when you can't be flexible about meetings. I
know that's why many people quit. They just don't fit with their leader
and can't make a meeting at a different time.
