I'm just finding this group and I'm not on WW but I need to do something
as my weight is a problem. I have lost a lot of weight a few years ago
but now I gained a few back. I feel misserable as I am with medical
problems which my weight is not a help . I'm 59 and I am getting
exercise but it is limited. I ride bike plus I walk each day. My eating
is out of control. I work 6 hours three days a week. My night eating is
crazy and my two sizes show it on me. Please tell me how you people got
started with a better eating plan.
I weighed 269 lbs and went to 157. I did this by myself several years
ago. illness sometimes causes me to be sendentary and that was one
reason I gained. I hate this higher weight.

Several of us here are members of WW, either we go to meetings or we use
their online version, some do both. Perhaps you should join a WW meeting in
your town. It would probably be good for you to get that live support and
all the WW info first-hand. WW Online has worked well for me and others as
well, but it's an individual choice really. This is a great support group.
The people here are all wonderful and very caring. You are certainly
welcome to join us here, but I would advise that you perhaps go to a few
meetings as well. Welcome to the group.

Speaking for myself, Gloria, this is how I started. I guess it was one day
when I looked at myself and was disgusted, feeling out of control. I wanted
more energy so I could do more with my 3 little kiddos. I also was sick of
buying "fat" clothes. I knew I had about 40-50 pounds to lose, and with that
kind of weight to lose, I knew I couldn't do it without some kind of support.
So I joined WW probably more for the accountability. If I am paying money for
this program, I am going to take something from it- knowledge, and weight loss,
etc. My hubby thought he could help me but I knew that having so much weight
to lose was something I had to seek help for elsewhere. Otherwise, I would
always have the "maybe tomorrow" mindset.

Thanks soo much! I needed this 'place' and I'm thankful that I came
here. You are caring and I feel better about this whole thing but I'm
just trying to get my 'act' together. My weight is now 192 and I should
weigh 165. My doc believes I'm too low if I get lower than that. I weigh
myself at my daughter's when I go there . I'm going to TRY to come here
with support to you guys while I get STRONGER with my better eating.

Warmly,
glo

Hi and welcome, Gloria! I'm a member of WW Online and that really really
helped me to get all the info I needed. They also have meal plans and
shopping lists there for you to print off and everything. It can't get any
easier than that, really! Check out the links in my signature, and if
you are planning on sticking around awhile (this group is WONDERFUL) you'll
also see the Sunday post which has a TON more info. Good luck with the
weight... take care!

Welcome, Gloria!

Please tell me how you people got
started with a better eating plan.

I am a WW member. I go and get weighed every week, and if time permits, I go
to the meeting. I have found that having someone weigh me every week is a huge
incentive. The meetings are also very helpful and supportive.

My night eating is crazy

I hear you on this one. I recently took up cross stitching so that I could do
it at night when I typically binge. Cross stitch and food don't mix!

Good luck with your weight loss. This is a fantastic place for support and
information. Keep us updated!

You've got this right! I'd be concerned about getting my linen or aida
covered with food stains! Perhaps I'll take it up again as well.
