Many people have medical conditions which mean they gain weight easily, and
you know what? Not all of them become obese.

Change your attitude and you'll change your life.

For what it's worth, I wish you a quick and full recovery and hope you can
get your weight down to a healthy level.

Um, yeah. I have a medical condition that got me this big. When Atkins
first came out I was on it as a teenager. I lost a lot of weight and got
into the lifestyle, but you know what the medical profession thought of
Atkins back then, so unfortunately I listened to them. When I was

diagnosed
with insulin resistance I was encouraged to give Atkins a try I have been
kicking myself ever since because I had the answer back in the 70's.

If you think about it, you may find that that's how you got so big that

you

Last week I was in a rented car with my brother. We asked for seat

belt
extenders, but the rental agency did not have them. Of course the

seat
belts did not fit because of our size. We were driving to our mothers

when
a suicidal deer jumped out in front of us. He chose to hit the guard

rail
instead of the deer. I ended up in the emergency room, was treated

and
released. I immediately went to see my primary care physician and got
appropriately treated. They missed little important things like, I

needed
a
personal care attendant because it hurt too much for me to do much.

It
was
5 days before I could drive again. I've talked to several lawyers

about
suing the car rental agency for renting a car without proper safety
equipment for a fat person. Every time I talk with a lawyer they roar

in
laughter and of course don't want to take the case. It doesn't matter

to
them that in all 50 states we are supposed to be belted when in a

moving
car. After all, Airlines have seat belt extenders. I bet someone had

to
sue them before they started to provide them. Gee, I was so messed up

I
needed a personal care attendant to assist with personal hygene,

cooking
and
cleaning. I missed several days of appointments and the last thing I

need
now is to get stuck paying for a bunch of medical bills because I am

unable
to get a personal injuy lawyer to take my case. I'm still dealing

with
pain
and it has been more than a week since the accident. No, I haven't

been
staying low carb through all this with all the depression and pain I

haven't
exactly felt like eating much of anything. The really sad thing is

that
I
have a valid point. When I was in Vegas the same car rental company

did
have seat belt extenders. Had I been belted I doubt I would have had

any
injuries.

Personally, I would have hit the deer, but I'm sorry you were hurt. I
hope you're feeling better soon. Surely, with the rental you had some
kind of insurance, or maybe your own insurance for your personal vehicle
will cover it. I do have insurance that covers me in a rental car as
well as my own car, check with your insurance company. Good luck.

Actually, hitting a deer can be pretty dangerous too. At least when you
hit a guardrail it doesn't smash through your windshield and start
panicking and kicking you in the head.

Only think is, if they'd hit and killed the deer, they could've taken it
home and eaten the bugger as part of their low carb diet!

(sorry, poor taste)

Yup, I'm the one who got into the car. Yes I have health insurance, but
they won't pay for anything because I was in an auto accident. I am unable
to pay the medical bills myself. This is why I need legal representation.
I'm willing to accept partial blame for this simply because I was on the
road in the first place, but I shouldn't be expected to pay for all of it.

I've just been depressed over all the medical bills and worried about how
they are going to get paid. It is a bit humilating when you are unable to
wipe your arse because you were in an auto accident. Following that stupid
food pyramid and listening to dietitions was a mistake. I was always
hungry. On Atkins I often forget to eat because I'm not hungry. Once the
throbbing pain stops I can start exersizing again and get back to my normal
routine. I should be taking the prescribed pain pills, but won't do it
because I'm not willing to become addicted to them. I'd rather deal with
the pain.

That is just bizzare. It shouldn't matter how you got hurt.

I am unable
to pay the medical bills myself. This is why I need legal

representation.

How many lawyers have you talked to? Have you talked to them about
representing you with your insurance provider? You did decide to get
into the car without belt extenders, so I can see why they think you
wouldn't have a case there (and I have to say I agree), but your medical
expenses should be covered regardless of how you came to be injured.
What about the auto accident insurance that was on the rental policy-- I
believe they require it on every rental-- does it also have a medical
cost (liability) provision, and does it cover you as well as the other
vehicle (not applicable in this case since deer don't drive, I know)?

I'm willing to accept partial blame for this simply because I was on

the
road in the first place, but I shouldn't be expected to pay for all of

it.

You should expect that your insurance provider(s) actually hold up their
end of the deal. It's one thing to allow the protection racket to
exist, it's another when it refuses to provide what it claims you pay it
for.
