Ok, I expect to reach my goal and know I will. But, I have a problem. I
have a horrible fat pouch on my lower abdomen. My hubby thinks exercise
will get rid of it, but I know it's not muscle and won't go. My muscles
under it are very tight. I know this is a problem with a lot of diabetic
folks and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what could be
done once my weight is at goal.

You've still got close to 40 pounds to lose to reach your goal. Give it
some time and it will probably shrink as the time gets closer.

Over time your weight will also shift so maybe your tummy pouch will
disappear. I sure hope mine does.

You cannot influence where you lose fat. It's all to do with genetics.
It tends to go last where it accumulated first. However if you lose
fat all over you will lose it from your tummy too, so if you still
have weight to lose it might improve.

Yes, I know, I'm just trying to plan for eventuality. Thanks.

I hope so, but I lost a lot of weight once before, not through dieting and I
still had a small flap then. But it did come off really fast and that may
have made a difference.
Hope you lose yours too!

Oh, I know that's true. I also know that the typical diabetic shape is
"pear". I hope it does go down a lot.

I have a tummy too. It has gone down some, but I am sure I will have it
forever. I have heard to drink A LOT of water. Water is realllly good for
the skin. Gives it elasticity. So while water will not cure it, it will
certainly help it if you are drinking the daily recommended amount or more.

Helen:

I have a pouch from kids that I don't think will ever disappear but will
get smaller as the rest of me shrinks. When I was small so was my pouch.
I've considered a tummy tuck but I still wouldn't wear a 2 piece bathing
suit so it would be for me and hubby and he likes me as I am.

Hi Connie;

My hubby loves me just the way I am too. He could care less if I lost
weight or not, but it's for me. So's the solution for the flap. When I
reach goal, I'm going to save for the surgery. I want to wear a 2 piece! I
want to be all I can be!
