Hi, people. Sorry I have not been posting lately. My weight loss has
basically stopped. I still keep up my journaling, etc., but I haven't
really lost any more weight in several months now. On the positive
side, I am sticking with my diet and am keeping my weight in the 79-81
kg range, which is still like a total of 45 kg down from when I
started. I would like to lose another 5 kg or so though...

I went to dinner the other night with a former co-worker, former
student and a friend. These guys all used to be slim and muscular
types while I was always grossly obese.

But the other night I was (and I must tell you, I am not used to
this!) the thinnest person at dinner! Check out the photo.

Everybody was very surprised. (Yes, I know, I need a haircut again.)

On another note, I have to go to the 2nd year memorial service for
Masao-san (a friend who passed away) on Sunday. I took out the suit I
bought last year (the 2nd in two years, because I was losing weight)
and the suit I bought last year in Boston is now way too big on me. So
it looks like I have to rush and buy a third suit before Sunday.

I'll second everything Lee said. The smiling photo is great too.
Regarding what must seem as an impossible plateau for you, it may not
change unless you really add more exercise or change what you eat. It
gets very difficult when you are closer to your desired weight. Just
always remember that where you are now is so much better than where you
used to be.

You look great, Doug! Well done.

That too is a victory, though a sad occasion for having one. (((Doug)))

Is it possible that you are fairly close to the weight your body wants to be
at? How tall are you? It's possible that your body just needs time to catch
up with your weight loss. Have also checked your measurements lately?

I've been working on getting to goal for 4 years now. I lost great for the
first 2 1/2 years and am losing very slowly now. This last 10 is driving me
nuts. I have noticed that while I am not losing much on the scale, the
exercise that I am doing is paying off and my body is toning. We all lose
using different measurments.

Having to buy another suit is a great NSV. Sorry it can't be for a more
festive occasion but I bet your friend would be proud of you for the
progress you've made this past year. Buy the suit in his honor.

Good to hear from you....Sounds like your at or near goal...I'm also in a
similar situation...Even increasing my daily walking to over 6 miles a day I
just can't lose...I'm 8 lbs from my goal which was increased by my Doc...WW
suggests a weight of 165...I'm shooting for 180...Doug...Don't be let
down...You look great...Let your body get used to it's new state...You have
won the major battle...Now it's time to live in peace shall we say...Stay
the course and enjoy the journey...GG
