Default Progress....

It's been somewhat of a good thing - making myself acountable to *something*
like this group. I promised I would post once a week with progress - even if
no-one ever reads the post I will still have to do it, because I promised
myself I would

Good news this week - down another 2 pounds. Going in the right direction,
loving the eating plan, not feeling like it's a *diet* at all. Marvellous

Shirts I bought in sales and couldn't wear because the gaps between the buttons
bulged now fit. (I know, I know...take them back.....but I liked them!).

Anyway - happy Monday to you all - thank you for all the support so far.

Thank you, thank you bows

Long way to go - but this time it's looking like a slow confortable journey -
not the uphill battle I've given up on before.

Fabulous! Keep up the good work. And having some clothes that are a "goal"
to fit into can be great motivation...

I'm still reading you Cellach. Congratulations on the 2 lbs. I know
what you mean about the Slimming World programme not feeling like a
diet - I think it would be an ideal way to eat for maintenance, but I
find I've strayed from the path a few times. I'm still basically
following the programme though and it feels a very healthy way to eat.

Excellent news. Keep up the good work! I stopped taking back snug clothes
because in no time they start fitting and even get too big. It's more
motivating to have something to look forward to.

From: "Perple Glow"

Hi Cellach,

What are you doing to help you lose weight? BTW, congrats on the weight
loss!!!

Thank you and thanks to everyone else who's replied - it really helps.

Perple, I'm following a woe from a company called "Slimming World". I think
they're just UK based. Janice on this list is also doing something similar,
though I think she's altered the plan to make it fit her better.

It's a very simple, no counting, no measuring plan. You choose either a Green
Day (where you can eat lots of carbs, any veggies and small amounts of protein)
or a Red day (lots of lean protein, any low carb veggies and small portions of
carbs). As long as you cook without fat there are lots of foods that are
classed as "free" - i.e. you don't have to measure them. They tend to be low
calorie - e.g. most veggies are free. Extra things you add and high calorie
things are limited to a set number per day - the program calls these "Sins".
For instance - small glass of wine is 5 Sins. They're a bit like Weigh****chers
points as far as I can tell - an easy way to count calories.

It's great having these "free" foods - I know they're not calorie-free, but
they are usually tasty and good for me. Bit like a safety net - if I do get
hungry either between meals or last thing at night I can go get some raw
veggies or a plate of noodles. It's amazing how much my taste buds have
developed since I stopped eating junk.

So typical day on Green might be :

Breakfast : porridge with a banana mashed in it

Lunch - Jacket potato with baked beans and a yoghurt

Dinner - noodle soup with small grilled chicken breast chopped up in it

Snacks are normally fruit and raw veg sticks.

Typical Red day might be :

Breakfast - lean bacon and 95% fat free sausage toasted sandwich

Lunch - Soup

Dinner - Large grilled chicken breast, 2 roasted potatoes, huge plate of
boiled/steamed veggie

Again - snacks are fruit and raw veggies

Hope this helps explain it

Regards

Cellach
