Default The Woosh Faery vs The Cheat Faery

Exactly one week ago today, I had a small woosh in the morning the way
I normally do. I lost my usualy 1.5-2 lbs. That day, my wife and I
were having a hard time figuring out a place to eat lunch. We decided
on the chinese place which is dangerous, i know, but i had gotten away
with it before.

It was the next day when i figured out what happened. I'm not sure if
something was coated in corn starch or if it was too much sugar in the
beef & broccoli, but I was 263lbs, up from 258 only the day before.
Not believing my eyes, I grabbed a pee stick and had a look. Still in
ketosis.

For this past week, I was good. I didn't do induction again, but I
did eat fewer carbs than normal for me, say 40. The pounds slowly
came off over the week. Yesterday morning, I woke up to another
woosh. Right on schedule, 7 days since the last one. My weight?

So I cheated (unintentionally) and ended up exactly where I would
expect to end up had I not cheated. All of this by the way, with no
exercise. I guess I won't feel so bad about the cranberry sauce I
normally load up with on thanksgiving. This diet is unbelievable.

Coulda been salt making you retain water too since u were still in
ketosis.....oriental is usually loaded with salt or MSG. But great progress
thus far with the diet, congrats!

Any sudden weight loss or gain is a change in how much water your body is
retaining. http://www.geocities.com/jenny_the_bean/glycogen.com explains
this in detail.

The best way to monitor your fat loss rather than water weight fluctuations
is to look at your weekly and monthly average weights. If you get all pumped
up about a sudden drop in pounds due to water loss you'll be heartbroken due
oo the sudden gain in pounds due to water gain.

I find that looking at my the monthly average weight (all my daily weights
averaged up) is a lot more sane and shows a nice gradual loss of weight that
reflects fat loss rather than daily water fluctuations.

and are having tremendous luck at it.
Good for you.. Keep up the good work

Yeah, I know the 5lbs was all water. Probably msg and glycogen
ganging up on me. I weigh every day looking for the weekly drop. I
fluctuate +/- half a pound from day to day.

haha, a minor plumbing modification has prevented that. :-) We are
adopting child #5 for us though. should be home by thanksgiving. My
passport photo shows me at about 295. That should be fun.
