People are noticing!
I went through most of my weight loss without too many comments. I think it
took 50lbs to get the first one! Now that summer is over I'm doing a bunch of back to school stuff with the kids, and can't go five minutes without somebody commenting! Naturally, when I answered the "how did you do it" question, the response was almost always the same. An excited face, expecting a miracle cure answer, which quickly collapses into a frown and 'oh, I couldn't do that ... no bread?' or some such comment. I just smile and don't say anything. Even though the obvious answer is that when choosing between being obese and giving up bread, the answer *should* be obvious. LOL! I even went swimming at the girl scout kickoff party, and had a great time. (I jumped off the high-dive, that impressed a bunch of 8 & 9 year olds!) I know I'm still fat, but it's not enough to slow me down anymore, and I know it too will be gone soon enough. I saw the other moms who were my old size, and it made me sad. This time last year I too would have been parked in a chair in the shade, watching everyone else have fun, and feeling self-conscious. Made me want to go tell them "I know how to help you!" LOL! It does make me 100% determined to NEVER put myself back in that place again. It's an ugly, sad, lonley, and very frustrating place. You and your husband are an inspiration! Fantastic job on your weight loss!
My whole family (me, my wife, 14 year old daughter and 13 yr. old son) is low-carbing it right now and our success has been slow but we are determined to keep on track. Thanks for sharing! From: Carol damsel-
I'm very happy for you! You've come a long way ... I can't wait to hear that you've reached goal. Carol Heya Carol, havn't heard from you in awhile. How are you doing? I miss them good ole days. Seems we both sorta lurked on out in the middle of summer? I hope things are going alright. I missed you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ "Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hate. You and your husband are an inspiration! Fantastic job on your weight loss! My whole family (me, my wife, 14 year old daughter and 13 yr. old son) is low-carbing it right now and our success has been slow but we are determined to keep on track. Have you seen the Low-Carb cook on Food TV? (wish I could remember his name) Look him up, his whole family was COMPLETELY transformed by low-carb eating. It's one of the most amazing and inspiring LC stories I've seen. Good luck to all of you!
