Learning to deal with assholes is a valuable life lesson. I am amazed that
so many people arrive here without having already learned that lesson. I
wonder what they do in RL when they encounter one. I can't believe that
they never do.

show 'em who's boss, and then move on. Any more energy spent than that

JC is an asshole, but he's only as harmful or consequential as you

I agree. That's why I warn newbies about him in my weekly low-carb
posts. It's not personal -- he's an equal opportunity asshole and
should be ignored. Aside from the usual aversion to him, I have a BIG
problem with him encouraging mentally unstable people to kill themselves
(he's done that more than once). I find that REPREHENSIBLE and cannot
comprehend why some others defend him just because he occasionally posts
something useful.

Let me be clear - I agree completely about the point about
encouraging suicide. I think its wrong, it makes my skin crawl, and I
think he should drop it from his "schtick" immediately.

However, there's not much that can be done about it either way. I've
chosen to accomodate to him.
