Stinks to high heaven and is somewhat rubbery... yuck. Cod that's been fermented, hence the stink. Worse than a fish boil that's for sure, but not by much. A fish boil is a bunch of fish and vegetables boiled together all day in a very large pot and then dumped on newspapers. Not quite like they do in the east & south since at least they know how to use spices. Jenn |

Where can I download a list of "Negative Calorie Foods" ?
"SnugBear" wrote in message ... "Ignoramus31326" wrote snip Zucchini are packed with calories. You can eat them and become quite fat! i Not quite true. According to the USDA National Nutrient Database, one cup, raw, sliced (113g) has 18 calories. One cup slices boiled (who would do that to a poor zucchini?) is 28 calories. I'd have to try pretty hard to get fat on them. Can you tell it's one of my favorite veggies? :-) -- Walking on . . . Laurie in Maine 207/110 60 inches of attitude! Start: 2/02 Maintained since 2/03 Summer squashes are much lower in calories than winter ones and I always ate lots of zucchini though I doubt it was the root cause of my weight problem. I love my acorn squash and I don't care if it's 82 cal/cup of cooked This week I delve into spaghetti squash. Jenn Jenn |

However... if it doesn't disappear soon, I may be inclined to disappear it in the garbage can. chili cheese fries (it makes my mouth slimy to THINK about those) Then you wouldn't like poutine - french fries, drenched in gravy with cheese curds melting on the top. Apparently, a popular choice of the French. A artery stopper for the restr of us. Oh my gosh... that sounds really revolting. I've never been horribly big on french fries, but that may have turned me off for life. Cynthia 262/238.5/200 first goal |

Seems counterproductive to converting anyone... George describes lutefisk, which he HAS been brave enough to try, as "smelly fish jello with bones". I think I'll pass. Apparently, there are such things in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Although, the last time I went skiing there, I didn't notice them and wouldn't have tried one even if I did. For me the all time most disgusting food is black pudding. Closely followed by sushi, which I guess puts me in the minority as for some reason I can't figure a lot of people seem to like it. janice 233/161/133 |

wrote: "Ignoramus31326" wrote in message ... sounds like an absurd list. carrots and apples and strawberries pack a lot of calories. Zucchini are packed with calories. You can eat them and become quite fat! The above are all things I eat without restriction, and they've never stopped me losing weight. They're all healthy foods with few calories - I don't understand the reference to zucchini (courgettes as we call them) unless they're fried in butter, of course. janice 233/161/133 |

Worst "Food" Imaginable
"Cox SMTP east" wrote in message ... I hate to admit this, but I like scrapple...sliced thin, fried and served with ketchup with eggs for breakfast. Haven't had it in years...my mother's family is from Pennsylvania Dutch country and we always used to have it at my grandmother's along with shoo fly pie which is truly wonderful. However, the same culture that invented these two wonders also loves something which does have my vote for the worst food ever...souse. I don't even know if I spelled it right...but it is some kind of clear gelatin into which is molded all sorts of gross organ meats, red somethings (peppers or pimentos) and I think onion and cabbage. It just makes me ill thinking of it. I used to get so grossed out as a kid watching the adults chow down on it. I don't even know if it is high fat/low calorie or what...it is just gross. Elise We had scrapple when I was a kid, too. Mother always fried it and we topped it with syrup. It was never one of my favorites but I ate it. I have to agree with you on the souse. That stuff ranked right up there with pickled pigs feet, cracklings and limburger cheese. I've ate all of them except the limburger cheese (aka stinky German cheese). My dad loved this stuff and I couldn't stand the smell of it. Another dish my mother made was scrambled eggs and brains. It's another food item I've never tasted. Just the site of these things frying in the skillet was enough to send me running to the back porch gagging. Now that I think about it - my parents ate some strange thingsg Beverly "Wendy" wrote in message ... Ann wrote: sausage gravy over biscuits (please don't make me describe it!) For example, I look at lobsters and wonder, "who was hungry enough to try to eat this the first time?" Wendy |
