Worst "Food" Imaginable

They often have lutefisk and meatball dinners up here at the churches in North Dakota. Seems counterproductive to converting anyone... George describes lutefisk, which he HAS been brave enough to try, as "smelly fish jello with bones". I think I'll pass. Wise choice, Cynthia !! I've smelled the stuff and that was enough to let me know I didn't want to taste it G Beverly Cynthia 262/238.5/200 first goal |

Worst "Food" Imaginable
Keep it up! This post is helping me not miss food!!!!!!!!!!!! blech!!!
Ya know.... after reading these posts last night, I actually DREAMED that I was eating a Pizza Hut deep dish cheese lovers pizza.... with canadian bacon and pineapple.... I dream that i am eating alot of fattening food...... It was the best pizza I ever ate!!! -- Email me at: perpleglow(AT)comcast.net We had scrapple when I was a kid, too. Mother always fried it and we topped it with syrup. It was never one of my favorites but I ate it. I have to agree with you on the souse. That stuff ranked right up there with pickled pigs feet, cracklings and limburger cheese. I've ate all of them except the limburger cheese (aka stinky German cheese). My dad loved this stuff and I couldn't stand the smell of it. Another dish my mother made was scrambled eggs and brains. It's another food item I've never tasted. Just the site of these things frying in the skillet was enough to send me running to the back porch gagging. Now that I think about it - my parents ate some strange thingsg Beverly |

Where can I download a list of "Negative Calorie Foods" ?
"Melissa" wrote in message . .. Did you read any of the other replies? There isn't a more complete list because they are a myth. "The Catabolic Diet is another example of slick marketing. One of the ways nutrition fraud survives is through creativity. People are always looking for something new to help with weight reduction, especially when the latest weight loss craze doesn't work and no longer is appealing. Like all weight loss gimmicks, The Catabolic Diet takes the physiological fact that the body requires energy (calories) to digest food and builds a falsehood around it. The digestive process is very complex and well regulated. It is a myth that foods have negative calories. If the previous examples were true, weight loss would happen by eating rice cakes all day, regardless of how many were eaten. Apples, celery, cauliflower, and other low calorie foods have nothing magical about them. People lose weight in two ways: they are taking in less food than their body requires and/or they are expending more calories than they are taking in." From http://myweb.cableone.net/kkelly/art...catabolic.html Melissa wrote in message ... THANKS, but I found and posted that one earlier. I was looking for a more detailed list. THANKS for the post. Gene "Happy_Homemaker" wrote in message ... http://www.webterrace.com/negative/negative.htm You should learn how to do a web search, dear. wrote in message ... If anyone has a link to where I can get a reasonably complete list of : Negative Calorie Foods and/or Fat Burning Foods please email me, or post the URL in here. If I'm going to try & lose 20 pounds, I might as well choose foods that are harder to digest & fill you up a bit mo-) THANKS, Gene -- eMail: Actually, I believe that a couple of the foods on the list, eaten in normal serving sizes actually do require more energy to digest resulting in a net loss. I am leery of the fruits, though. Celery and turnips are thought to be negative calorie foods but I seriously doubt one could eat enough celery to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Ice water actually requires 8 calories of energy to be warmed to body temp. So, if you drink 400 glasses of ice water a day you might actually find that you lose weight. Being that a person only spends an average of 16 hours awake, that comes to a mere 25 glasses a day. But, if you added celery, say a stalk of celery for each glass of water, significant weight loss might be appreciated. And if you got really sick to your stomach and had to take to the bed for a few days without eating, even more weight would be lost! j |

Let's pull this into a separate thread. I'm fascinated by the concepts of the stuff people will actually put in their mouths. (Fascinated in the same way as when I watch operations on TV or can't look away from a car wreck.) Funnelcake - I get sick even smelling funnelcake. Potato salad - potato plus the added health benefit of mayonnaise (sp?) Cheese steak sandwiches Macaroni and Cheese dinner any kind of hot dogs - I don't care if they're the fat free kind- they're still nasty fastfood breakfast biscuits spam garden burgers the "Awesome Blossom" appetizer at Chili's - 2800 calories worth of something that tastes disgusting Anything that comes from a chinese buffet AL |

I agree on the spam - we were made to eat it at school but I've never had it since. For me the all time most disgusting food is black pudding. Closely followed by sushi, which I guess puts me in the minority as for some reason I can't figure a lot of people seem to like it. Sushi rules this earth! I love it more than any other food. I would eat it daily if I could. Martha |
