Default Food & Exercise -- 6/17/2007

Had brunch (more of a lunch-style meal, really, despite the hour) at
the German Wine Society convention, then came home. Spent the rest of
the day at home, except for going out for a short hike in the woods
with DH (and a bit of extra climbing on my own) tonight. I'd hoped to
run this evening but it was just too hot -- didn't get below 90 until
after dark. (It's very shady on the mountain so the short hike was
feasible despite the temperature -- plus DH walks pretty slowly.) I
ate fairly lightly at the brunch -- mostly because the food wasn't
stuff I really like -- and very lightly the rest of the day. I'm
beginning a week-long effort to drop a couple of pounds -- using some
of the old weight-lifting "making weight" approach -- before I stand
up and speak to the Life Time Fitness Leadership Conference next
week :-).

Food:

* 8:00 (hotel room): energy bar
* 10:00 -- 12:00 (conference brunch): ~1/2 cup gazpacho {very tasty,
but the acid tends to disagree with me, so didn't finish it}; a few
bites of osso buco & julienned veggies {I don't care much for osso
buco -- too fatty for me -- and the veggies were too buttery to taste
good. There was also polenta, but it had peppers in it and I can't
eat them, so skipped it.}; small cinnamon caramel mousse {I did eat
this :-).}; 6 oz. wine
* 9:00 (home): omelet w/ 2 eggs, 2 slices f/f cheese, 2 oz. crabmeat;
~10 grape tomatoes

Exercise:

* 7:30: easy hike -- ~ 1 mile
