It is more like Natures way with natural foods. http://www.wholefoods.com/ I
don't think they have a membership plan like Sams. It is pricey from what I
have heard. We have one about 45 minutes from here that I would like to go
visit just for the heck of it.

Newbie question...
Is Whole Food store like a Nature's Way with natural foods... or
Co-op's membership... or is it a 'bulk buy' store with membership only
like Sam's??

Thank you once again Laura. I have saved this site to browse at a later
date. Looks very productive. Must check the phone directory to find the
nearest store.

What do you buy at Whole food that is low pts/core and helpfull in your
journey ?

super-dried fruits and veggies (careful..you have to count these like
regular dried fruit, but the veggies are nice)
hummus and refried-bean mixes (you can add or not add oil as you wish)

Whole Foods has somethings that Trader Joes and the chain supermarkets
do not. I just went there tonite because they carry the full selection
of Garden Burgers. They are about 60 cents higher than Safeway per
package but Safeway cut down the selection of what they carry.

Since I cycle quite a bit, Clif Bars and Kashi Bars are very cheap at
Whole Foods. Not sure why but they have the best selection and prices
of many of the most popular bars.

It looks like they have a very large salad bar and my guess is a pretty
good meat section.

I still prefer TJs. After reading your posts, I feel fortunate that I
have so many of these stores in my area.
