Well, I went back down to 159.5 this week, but The Northern Contingent still
is ahead (behind?) by half a pound. Look out. I am going to count and
journal all week to try and get off a bit before the great turkey
experiment.

You are doing this for yourself. This is not a competition!!!!!!
(aside: damn, now will I have to starve myself)

I don't do butter.

Turkey day is going to be a challenge - but hopefully, not as painful
as last year - my first holiday on WW and attempting to stick fully to
program was terrible. I've since relaxed my standards on such days.
Nowhere like the old days but not painful avoidance of all foods!!

The northern contingent still has activity points left over from that
Oregon backpack trip (G)

Hey you had to eat all those activity points that DAY now they are Gone.!!

And yes, I am not competitive It is really okay if you don't even Think
about this, it was just a *joke*. smirk. Anyway, who says I am not doing
it for myself (as I gaze at the picture of the evil Ex in his bathing suit
from his last trip down here , ya hahahahahaha, can you say Whale?)

Whatever floats my boat. I will use anything at all to stay below goal, be
it bit**y or not. And I am planning on having a "regular" thanksgiving
dinner. Last year I made lots and lots of 0 point side dishes. This year I
am going to make the traditional dinner, have fruit salad for breakfast that
day, and soup in the evening. Then at the big meal I am just going to
choose my portion sizes more reasonably that I would have in years past. No
faux mashed potatoes this year. I will do the winter squash mashed thing
instead of sweet potatoes, because I truly like it better. And pumpkin pie
instead of pecan.

No, it was on the old program, very very old program when you could
use them during the remaining CALENDAR YEAR! (G) Actually, I still
don't buy that use them that day or gone - not for some of my hiking
exploits - If I'm hungry the next day, I will eat. I still try to not
use them all in any event. The question (that long distance bikie
raised it but never did come back) about carbo loading before is still
somewhat of an issue, too. If I know that I'm planning something big
the next day, should dinner/snacks the night before be bigger (point
rich)? I try not to do that much.

I do sweet/yams at least once or twice a week normally. I do have an
apple-sourcream pie recipe that I may make for Thanksgiving - potluck.
I am still known for my desserts and others are not on WW - although
some of them should be (ohhhhhhhhh, not nice)

And float your boat away or should that be aweigh. I think staying
below goal is a worthy objective. That may also be why getting in a
"cushion" makes some sense. That way even if you gain on a luxury
vacation or some other reason, you still maintain Lifetime and NO_PAY
(G) At this last meeting, one member noted a vacation to England and
brews and pub food and was not going to "be deprived" She noted that
she expected to gain a bit but also knew without question that once
she came home she would be able to get right back on program. So she
did not sweat the vacation and the potential gain. Practical.

Oh, why am I here today: Here's a link to a freeway camera 5 blocks

I was dressed in my hiking finery and then checked the doppler and

********The next calendar Year? I tend to be a free form exercise person,
but I also tend to really listen to what my body wants to do? And I can
tell you that on days After I have eaten a lot of extra points, I have
energy to burn and I usually Do it. Those tend to be the days that I have
marathon workouts, starting with weight training, and ending up aerobic
something or other, like a long bike ride or dancing or yard renovations,
usually lasting 90 minutes or longer. And on the mornings after low point
days I tend to run out of steam after around 45 minutes. My only rule about
exercise is to Start something, at least 6 days a week. Once I am warmed up
I let how I feel dictate what I do. I used to be much more structured, but
this feels right now.**********

The Ex just really blamed all of our marital problems on my weight, and

passive aggressive, chicken hearted...... Well, suffice it to say I could

Well, maybe a Calendar year was a bit much. (g) I am also trying to
just respond to what I really need. But since I know the WW activity
stuff is aimed at folks who do not do long strenuous stuff, using the
points the next day is something I will do if I feel it necessary.
Trying to ascertain how much food I may need for a given plan is not
that critical - just have to take enough along as long as I have
enough to start the day. My problem is that my exercise is outside
oriented and days like today (and forecasted - tomorrow) make it hard
to earn activity points - I hate the nordic track and I do not belong
to a gym.

And yes, I am not competitive It is really okay if you don't even

Think

Well, since folks accepted me - I am pretty good, too. Another friend
has asked me about the grown daughter of a mutual friend and how to
get her interested in losing weight - I said she just has to want to
to do it. Each of us has to make the decision and be comfortable
with ourselves. I was not happy about my weight but kept making the
usual excuses. When it really got in the way of my outdoor interests
I got more serious but it still took time and resolve.

The Southern Contingent seems to being hold her own quite well. I
think it's great that you were able to get yourself right back on
plan.

Planning for Thanksgiving this far in advance is a good idea. I was
thinking about treating myself to pizza tonight, but maybe I should be
thinking ahead as well.
