Default Road Trip w/ Food Allergies... Suggestions???

I need dietary help...
I am about to embark on a 4 day roadtrip along the east coast.
I was recently diagnosed with several food allergies.
My doctor has me eliminating several food items from my diet.
*nice timing*
All Cow's Milk (includes Yogurt, ice cream & other milk cultures)
Melons
Bananas
Potatoes
Pork
Beef
Chicken
Ham (pork)
Yeast
Eggs
Corn
all nuts except seeds
Iceberg & Romaine Lettuce
Chocolate (not good, I'll miss that)
all brown colas (because they have coca in them)
wheat
tea
Apples
Aged Cheese
Vinegar
& Soy products

She also wants me rotating every 4 days the foods I do eat.
So what's a girl to eat. I am relatively new to this whole new way of
eating.

When road trippen one has a tendency to eat junk along the way. I want to
avoid doing that & stick to the diet she has me on as much as possible. Can
anyone recommend any meals I can bring with me or places off I-95 where I
can stop to get a healthy meal. Fast Food is definately OUT.
Dang it dang it dang it lol
I'll be traveling from Florida to Maine stopping in Casselberry, Fl -
Richmond, Va. & Manchester, Ct.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

THANKS!
Melanie

Wow! That's a tough one. It looks like you can eat fish, is that
right? How about citrus fruit? Beans and peas. Hmmm

I'm thinking canned tuna and salmon (in the pouch), oranges, frozen
peas, wasa crakers (I think that the Hearty Rye is wheat free). Can you
have peanut butter (in other words, is that considered a legume seed or
a nut by your doctor)?

Default Road Trip w/ Food Allergies... Suggestions???

I know my previous post that lists the foods that I need to avoid, and it
seems extreme but
its not forever rather just for about a month or so because my Doc says
that many of the
items on my list (with the exception of cow products, eggs, wheat, Yeast,
bananas, chocolate & vinegar)
will eventually be added back in my diet at least once a week without I'll
effects. She wants to detox me 1st because apparently since I was eating all
the wrong foods almost daily, I developed an infection in my intestines & my
digestive system began to shut down. So she gave me a list of foods that I
can eat during the adjustment not to mention a butt load of pills to take to
get me back on track.

The foods I can have a
Seafood
Turkey
Duck
Tuna
Rice
Pasta (that is wheat free)
Fruit (except Cranberries, Melons & Bananas)
Seeds
Legumes
Veggies (except iceberg & romaine lettuce)
bran
oatmeal
coffee
juices
7 up/sprite (clear sodas)
Veggi, Olive, sunflower oils
Honey
Any Spice
Jello
Hard Candy
Frozen Fruit Bars
non dairy creamer
goats milk & cheese
Rice Milk
Almond Milk
Italian Ice
Sorbet

And that is about it.
I have a feeling I will be doing a lot of cheating or starving on this road
trip.
I have been doing fine on the diet for the past few weeks but its the
rotation thing I am having issues with.
There is such little i can eat & she wants me to rotate what I eat every 4
days. It's been a challenge. A tasty one though because I have discovered a
lot of new foods that I would have never tried before.
Like vanilla rice milk YUM!!! Oh & I don't think I will ever miss Mayo again
now that I discovered Tahini. Thats some yummy stuff espc. w/ tuna.

[more than usually hairy list]

This is too ambitious to start on when you're away from your own kitchen.
Presumably the allergy isn't acutely life-threatening; so start the diet
in earnest when you get back from your trip. Maybe you could eliminate
one or two of the more important and manageable foods while you're away,
but doing the whole shebang would leave you no mental energy to deal with
whatever the trip is actually for.

Finding alternatives takes practice. It doesn't help to treat a diet
as if it were a conversion to a new religion.

It sounds like you need more diner type places than fast food type
places. A diner will have oatmeal for breakfast and some kind of turkey
or seafood for lunch. You could also pack appropriate bread/wrap type
products and bring turkey cold cuts with you and a nice selection of
appropriate fruits and vegetables. It also sounds like ethnic places
might be good choices.

sounds like some kefir is in order
http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/kef...t_kefir_grains
or kumbacha tea. both really help with digestive problems including food
allergies. a lot of times food allergies are caused by candida overgrowth.
I make kefir with goats milk and it sure helps.

They sell kefir in grocery stores here (NE Illinois).

I also have my own kombucha tea made in a 1 gallor plastic drink
dispenser.

Bits and pieces don't work. You need to address the whole situation.
Homemade yogurt is more effective than kefir. You have to eliminate
indigestible carbs. Certain starches and sugars feed yeast and
bacterial overgrowth.

it's not the same it is only a couple of cultures. the real thing has about 20
or so.
plus it is dirt easy to make. add milk and in 24 hours you have kefir just
leaving it on the counter. plus you can use any milk you want.

home made yogurt is better then kefir? maybe the store bought kefir but not
kefir made with kefir grains. yogurt is just one culture kefir is about 25. plus
you can get rid of the lactose in kefir just by aging it.
