Exclamation Weight Management Survey

I am a doctoral student in sociology at Kent State University as well as a clinical nurse specialist. I am currently working on my dissertation and am investigating weight loss, weight loss maintenance, and the development of unique meanings or attitudes. I am writing to recruit participants for my study and would be very grateful to post an announcement about my study on this site. My research survey takes about 20 minutes to complete and is available online at http://newmedia.kent.edu/weightloss. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and either in the process of non-surgically losing weight or the process of maintaining a weight loss (any amount and any length of time). I welcome questions about my study and hope you are willing to contribute to this project by completing my survey. Sincerely, Chris Heifner Graor, MSN, RN, CS

Took the survey, but the last page won't allow me to complete it. Keeps
asking what my appreciation gift is. I've chosen none, the $1 to the
registry, as well as the Best Buy thing (different tries, thinking that
maybe that was the problem), and it still won't allow me to complete the
survey.

Have fun with your data.

Exactly the same happened here.

Donna, Much thanks for your feedback. I contacted the media people at Kent State U and will see what they say. I will also check to see if your data was submitted in spite of what your screen showed. Will post an update when I have news. thanks again! Chris

Donna and Kate, I really appreciate your messages and have worked with the media people at Kent State U to remedy the gitch. I checked my data set and if either of you are 57 or 49 years of age, I think I got your completed survey. Let me know what appreciation gift you want and if you want a summary of findings. Provide addresses and email addresses as needed and use my personal email to convey this info ). Thanks again for your time!!! Chris

I think I'm the 49 YO. Just donate to your favourite cancer charity
for me...

Some of the questions were really difficult, from the point of choosing
any answer at all... Many of them simply had no meaning for me.
Unfortunately, I often find this with surveys: I just don't fit the
standard profile!

Kate, Maybe you fit the standard profile (or the parameters of it) more than you think. I hope you just went with your initial thoughts and gut feelings, especially in the attitudes section, which I know may be a different way to think about things (though the research shows this is how we feel about things on an unconscious level). Much thanks again for helping me with this project! Sincerely, Chris

It's just that my gut reaction to a whole slew of the questions didn't
match any of the given answers, PARTICULARLY for feelings and attutudes!
You got rather more nutral answers than I wanted to give simply
because none of those available fitted what I thought.
