Default Can someone give me a diet recommendation based on my current situation

Hello All,

Can someone give me a diet recommendation based on my current
situation. I am 38YO helthy female, 5.5 and 120lbs. I would feel good
if i'd lose 10 lbs. I am not very physicaly active. I have no
preferences in terms of food intake and I havent been on a diet in last

five years.

Thanks,

Edita

Get physically more active! You need to build some muscle mass NOW, on
weight-bearing bones, to avoid osteoporosis etc. later in life. Exercise
will also boost your metabolism; you're on the big slow-down, and you need
to fight it.

DO NOT do the Atkins diet.

You need a minor weight loss, not a major one, and the Atkins diet works
best for major weight loss.

If you quit the Atkins diet, after losing your 10 pounds, you will gain
about 5 pound back from undoing the form of biochemical balance created
by the Atkins diet. So, you would be unhappy with the end result.

Anything that has you exercise and eat a bit less will do.

You can invent your own diet, so long as you absolutely exercise more
and eat a bit less.

And, you may decide to stick with your own diet for life, which would be
very good for you.

1) Eat Till SATISFIED, Not STUFFED... Atkins repeated 9 times in the book
2) Exercise: It's Non-Negotiable..... Chapter 22 title, Atkins book
3) Don't Diet Without Supplimental Nutrients... Chapter 23 title, Atkins
book
4) A sensible eating plan, and follow it. (Atkins, Self Made or Other)

I'd first have to know how you eat now. I believe that anyone,
regardless of weight, would do well to avoid trans fats (aka partially
hydrogenated oils) and high fructose corn syrup. This would in itself
eliminate almost all junk foods. But, if you currently don't eat these,
then it wouldn't be a change for you.

Before I started low-carb I was a pastaholic, and I ate pasta at least
once, more often twice a day. I lost some weight just by replacing one
pasta meal with a big salad with a chopped up grilled chicken breast in
it, before I even went full low-carb. I didn't even skimp on toppings,
went right ahead and put in olives, shredded cheese, and full-fat
dressing. It was very filling, and kept me full so I didn't crave any
snacks between meals. So that's another idea there.

You'd also benefit from starting an exercise program. Don't be
concerned with pushing yourself too hard at first, just start with the
goal of making it a habit. You should do both cardio and weight
lifting, and try to make it, especially the cardio, as fun as possible.
By fun I mean something you'd enjoy for its own sake, even if it wasn't
good for you. The weight lifting is harder to make fun, imo, but it
feels really good so that keeps me motivated to do it.

Possibily, she's carrying more flab than her weight would suggest and that's
motivating her to want to lose weight (ie, she's "skinny fat"). In that
case, exercise of the weight resistance kind would likely do wonders...she'd
likely need to gain a few pounds of muscle and then diet to reduce the fat.

Now, if the scale weight is what's motivating her, she might need to seek
some guidance.
