Maybe you can lose even more weight if you move it to another part of the
house!

A couple of weeks ago I moved my scale from the kitchen where I had been
weighing every morning (in the buff) to the bedroom where I placed it on a
concrete garden path block. The bedroom's carpeted so I thought placing

it
on the block would overcome that problem. I've been frustrated that I've
been super diligent and kept not only my portions under control, my

calories
slightly under my 8x weight limit, ate the best nutritious food I could,
exercised everyday but I've been stuck at 205 for almost 3 weeks. This
morning after seeing 205 on the scale once again, I decided to take the
scale back in the kitchen and see if it weighed different. It weighed

202,
the four times I got on it! That was with my DH weighing himself too. So
the scale stays in the kitchen, the block goes back in the yard and I'm
happy. Three pounds isn't enough to notice a difference in the way my
clothes fit so seeing the number on the scale drop once in a while is how

I
stay motivated. If I stayed off the scale (which some people would
recommend) I'd drift back into bad eating habits.

Okay, so you and your husband are wandering around your house in the
buff and the only activity you can think of is weighing yourself?

I can move my scale around to different places and have it change the
reading too. But how does that mean that you really lost weight? Perhaps the
gravity is lower in the kitchen?

The key is always having the scale in the same place, and weighing at the
same time in the same clothes (or lack of). That is how to keep an accurate
record of loss or gains.

If you are truly at a plateau, then make some changes to your habits. If you
are eating less than 8x your current weight, you are only eating about 1600
calories per day. Try increasing your calories for a couple of weeks and
see what happens. 1600 calories for someone who weighs 205 is on the low
side.

The scale was originally in the kitchen and that was where I determined I
had lost the previous 16 pounds. Evidently the placement of the scale on
the concrete block on carpet effected how it weighed. I'm going to leave it
in the kitchen and keep my WOE like it is for a while. I'm 45 years old and
my metabolism is on the slow side. I came to the 8x weight formula as being
the level where I lose weight by experimenting. I gained a little weight at
10x weight, maintained at 9x and lose at about 8x. Sometimes since I fill
up on low calorie vegetables, it's hard to even eat up to the 8x level. A
lot of days I'm at 1200 or even below after dinner so then at about 8
o'clock at night (I keep a spreadsheet with measures and calorie counts of
what I eat as the day goes on) I have to figure out non-junk snacks to eat
to make up the 400 calorie deficient. With the 3 pound loss as of this
morning, I've lost 19 pounds in 96 days since I've been doing 8x weight.

DH's is 56 years old; there's only so many times a day he can participate in
or something.

I guess that's what I need to do.

It's been so busy in my life, I haven't had time to get to the gym,
unfortunately.

At least I have three vacation days off next week. : )
