Default Week 48 report - Major Milestone: in the "Hundreds"!

This is a nice way to start my U.S. trip which begins today.... All I lost
was 0.2 kg (0.4 lb), but it brought my total weight loss so far to over 75
lb and... yes... my weight into the "hundreds"! Yay!

(The first time I got on the scale it showed a loss of 0.4 kg, but the next
two times it was just a loss of 0.2 kg, so I'm going to be conservative and
report the smaller weight loss.)

My average daily calories came to 1666 calories/day, about 40 calories/day
more than last week. Since I lost 0.4 lb this week this means my CPP
(calories per pound per day needed to maintain weight) was 9.4, which is a
bit lower than my average CPP.

My "rolling 4 week average" decreased slightly to 1.1 lb/week.

You can see my latest weight loss graph at
http://lerner.net/diet/weight20060505.jpg

The latest stats:

* Week 48 / Day 336
* This week's loss: 0.2 kg = 0.4 lb
* Weight (kg): 125.0 - 90.8 (minus 34.2 kg)
* Weight (lb): 275.0 - 199.8 (minus 75.2 lb) MILESTONE! In the Hundreds!
* BMI: 41.3 - 30.0 (just one more tick to go from "obesity" into
"overweight"!)
* Percent body mass lost: 27.4%
* Percent complete to goal: 74%

My next goal is to get into the 80s in kg. Maybe by the time I get back?

Outstanding, Doug! You're doing a remarkable job sticking to your
plan.

As I recall, you're planning to arrive in St. Louis tomorrow, about the
same time I leave. Let me recommend -- as strongly as I can -- a visit
to the botanical garden (www.mobot.org). The whole place is gorgeous
-- I especially loved the Japanese garden -- but the special attraction
now is the Chihuly glass exhibition. It's really wonderful!

Anytime you can see a Chihuly glass exhibit it is worth it. I love
Chihuly's work.

It's a nice area -- nice old neighborhood character. (I'd recommend
some restaurants, but maybe better not :-) .)

Water: Your Best Weight Loss Friend

Water is one of the key components to a healthy diet and a long-term
weight loss undertaking. It not only nourishes your body by keeping
your cells hydrated, but it fills your stomach so that you are less
hungry. Here are some quick tips for consuming a weight-loss-friendly
amount of water without feeling like you are a human water drain.

8 Glasses a Day
As the water enters into your system, it hydrates your cells. Not only
will you feel more energized, but it will help to keep your cells
strong against illness, headaches and fatigue. Imagine that the
body's cells are a plant. Without water, the plant will wilt and be
less strong against daily elements. However, with the proper amount of
water and care, the plant will be strong and healthy.
Fruits like watermelon, apple etc add more vitamins and minerals to the
body.

Good for you Doug! Enjoy being there! Your steady progress is the
inspiration that we all need. I need to ask myself 'What Would Doug Do'
when I am having a difficult moment!!!! I am afraid that I won't make
the hunreds this go around but soon!
Enjoy your trip and I am going to toast to your continued success ( and
mine) with a big drink of water right now!
