doing that thing
so here i am 6 days in and all is going pretty well. i made it through pilates and i felt really good. it wasn't until the next day that i was all damn my stomach hurts.....oh, cuz i exercised!....DER!!!!! i've been trying to eat more regular meals and to make sure i'm getting protein too (i went vegatarian the 1st of june of this year) ive even had a few desserts. i find it difficult to not beat myself up over indulging once and a while but its something to continue to work on. i think if i just splurge on really yummy fruits like mangos and pomegranites i will be able to feel as though i'm indulging yet still being healthy and the only reason i'll feel bad is cuz i spent 3 bucks on a piece of fruit.so i went on the scale at work and i seem to have lost 1.5 pounds, but it could just be a fluctuation. i'll see what it says tonight.

I eat plenty of celery, lettuce, radishes, green beans, green peppers, onions, cauliflower and I drink a little nonfat milk and eat egg whites or Egg beaters for protein since I don't eat soy. Apparently, the latest info indicates it isn't so hard to get adequate protein as was thought just a few years ago and I wouldn't really have to eat the egg whites or drink the milk, but I like it. I understand the feeling when you eat more than you planned, and I don't like that feeling either, so I just don't EVER overeat. I eat exactly 1800 cal per day, and STOP! With my exercise level (6X a week of moderate exercise), I can easily maintain my weight of 135 pounds. Another reason why I never overeat besides feeling like I blew my diet, is that overeating wouldn't really satisfy me anyway. People like me who tend to get overweight and WERE overweight do not have a good mechanism to tell us when we should be full, so I could easily eat 4 of whatever dessert you eat and still crave more.....so, I just don't go there. It works for me anyway. Also there is the idea of CHEATING on your diet. It is like any other kind of cheating...once you allow yourself to do it, you are very likely to do it over and over again. dkw |
