OT - Brown sugar as a face mask
Hello, ladies,
This is not about low carb lifestyle, but it does involve the main culprit of LC - sugar. I recently purchased a face cleanser from a little boutique. In the instructions they recommended mixing brown sugar with a few drops of water and applying it over the cleanser for several minutes. They say that the smoothing effect of the cleanser will be enhanced. I tried it, and I liked the results. However, am I just seeing a placebo effect, or does brown sugar really smooth the skin out? Thanks for the input! Elana |

However, am I just seeing a placebo
effect, or does brown sugar really smooth the skin out? Sugar is a natural exfoliant. I have a few brown sugar scrubs, they're excellent. I prefer them to salt scrubs. LCing since 12/01/03- Me- 5'7" 265/185/140 & hubby- 6' 310/199/180 http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/lcer09/my_photos |

Hi, Kelly!
Thanks for the reply. I'm not tempted to have a taste at all - brown sugar with face cleanser... YUCK! But it does wonders for the skin - I really like it! Elana |

Thanks for your replies, Lynn and LCer09.
Never thought of sugar as an exfoliant. But it works great, and is not as irritating as salt. Elana |
