Hey Steve, here's my advice for what you should do to get the body you
want, seriously. Weight training. Do some aerobics too, of course, for
heart and lung health, but concentrate on weight training of some kind.
You don't have to join a gym, you can even get used weights if they have
one of those "Play it Again" type stores near you, or try to find some on
Ebay. From what I've heard you say, you're quite close to the number you
want on the scale, but you still have some flab. At this point, well, I'm
not exactly an expert, just know what I've learned here, but at this point
your weight loss is likely to be pretty slow, but building muscle mass
should speed up the transformation of your body dramatically. The more
muscle mass you have, the more efficient your body is at burning calories.
Also, since muscle is denser than fat, you could get smaller and firmer
without the number on the scale changing at all! For example, my prom
dress that I wore at 150 pounds is now too big on me at 160 pounds, the
difference is that now I work out with weight machines at Curves. Maybe
look on ebay and see if there's someone selling any weights that go along
with a tape that teaches a workout? If you can't find any good deals,
weight a couple of months, all the people who buy that stuff for their New
Year's resolution to lose weight will get tired of it by then.

How long is it since you last lost weight? This is not including the

That's miles too soon to be worried about not losing. You haven't
really stalled until you've lost neither weight nor size for four
weeks, so you have three weeks to go before you start to worry. And
even then, a stall is losing nothing at all, not 'not losing fast
enough'.

Have you checked your calorie intake? You're not particularly large
and you may find that your problem (if there is one, I'd leave it a
month before makeing the decision that you have an issue) is that
you're eating on or near maintenance calories.

Your loss. Roger is one of the bright lights in this group.

Sorry if I made a rash decision Marsha, but I am here for support, not for
criticism.

Sometimes criticism is needed. Support isn't all about sweetness, and
huggies, sometimes it's a swift kick in the butt when its needed.
Perhaps he felt you needed one.

Your body has woken up to the fact that it's not getting the calories it
used to so it's hanging on to what it's got.

You need to eat more so that the calorie deficit is only gradual.
